Any chance Russell could end up looking at us more?

Im sure we increased our chances but he seemed to pass off the visit pretty easily considering that comment

Notwithstanding the fact that the 2013 class is probably our best on paper since recruiting rankings really started to occur over the last 15-20 years, just the fact that this staff is so active makes me feel good about recruiting moving forward. With TJ, we never heard shite about the staff or recruiting or anything. And it showed as we were really unable to recruit consistently well. This staff is the polar opposite of that and it will certainly pay dividends.

I feel very good about where we stand with Victor, and he's the type of guy that we can't afford to miss out on if we want a consistent winner. We were able to land the big dog instate for 2013, let's hope we can do the same for 2014.

Added D'Angelo Russell even if LSU is not really a factor he is one of Indiana's top SG they are after and could have a big impact on Dante Exum's recruitment.

Some thing else that may help us with Exum. UNC just had a visit with Rashad Vaughn & Tyus Jones The #1 SG & #2 PG in the class.

Exum may not have a spot @ IU or UNC.

Thank you ralsu

Another thing is that UNC was a very young team, and I know they already have two highly ranked recruits committed for 2014. So unless they forsee a lot of attrition, you are right. The one thing that I love about LSU in all sports is that if a guy can make it to campus for a visit I will take the tigers. I hope Exum can make it to campus.

I think Thompson depending on his AAU summer could very well go up on LSU's board out of all of the in-state prospects LSU is interested in or that are interested in LSU he has the most potential to receive an offer outside of Cornish and someone said Dominic Magee has an offer but I could not confirm.
Hoping for
Victor
Exum
Black
Lindsey
Roby
3-4 schollys available but it is becoming more and more apparent that Black, Roby, and Lindsey could be a package deal.

He's a mid-level guy that I think LSU should go after unless they're dead set on more top 50 big men (it's unreasonable to expect 2 or 3 every year). He'd be a nice 4 year player and will definitely continue to grow as a player.

Ive heard thompson has an offer...heard yes and no on magee. One thing is certain, lots of local talent to supplement some out of state guys who may be higher up the board right now.

I agree. You need guys like that in your system to balance out some of the early leavers. Now, you don't just take him for the novelty of it, but it's also very nice to take a local kid. Not many guys from Parkview playing at the college level for basketball.

In terms of who the first domino is, it is really hard to gauge whether Roby wants to be a package deal. Black and Lindsey are almost a guaranteed package deal.
Who are their respective leaders with the common teams in bold.
Lindsey- Florida, LSU, Tennesee, Vandy, Louisville, NC State, Auburn
Black- Baylor, UCONN, Florida, Memphis, NC State, LSU, Kanas, Tennesee
Roby- LSU, Missouri, Wake Forest, Auburn, Arkansas

But really for Lindsey and Black besides LSU the main competition is Florida, Tennessee, and NC State.
Roby would be the first to commit and if we got him I would actually say we would be in the lead on Lindsey and Black IMO.

Also it's a pretty good scenario for the 2014 class, you have CJJ going after top national targets with Victor included in this. But if things do not work out you have in-state players like Thompson, Magee, Keys, and Cornish that you could feel good about getting. Great time for LSU basketball!

What about the two other 2014 guys that LSU offered from the same school as Lindsey?

I dont know personally how much we are interested in them, can confirm we offered, Braxton Bonds and Jake Allsmiller. Both are role players at the next level IMO. Believe it was more while we the staff saw Jalen Lindsey off thel to. If anybody has scout premium access its on there,

D'Angelo Russell on LSU

quote:

“They came up here to watch us practice,” he said about the Tigers. “I haven’t really watched LSU, but I’ve been keeping in contact with them since that day. I’m definitely interested in them too.”
