I think If we could have landed Keith Frazier it would have been sort of the missing piece for next years team, but what I dont understand is yes if you want to stay in Texas thats fine but why choose Texas Tech or SMU. Texas Tech is just a bad program with no momentum right now, and SMU had all the momentum Larry Brown, Big East, but now it looks to be going downward.
Top 10 Recruiting Class at LSU that if Frazier joins he gets even more notiriety, over Texas Tech and SMU's classes.
Conference wise even in a down year the SEC is still better long term than the Big 12 for basketball, the Big Least is now C-USA + 4. I really though we would get him then we were out. But hey they are 18.
Woulda been nice 5 Newcomers on the floor at one time our own "Fab 5"
1st
PG Quarterman 6'5
SG Frazier 6'6
SF Martin 6'8
PF Mickey 6'7
C Odo 6'10

That would have been fun to watch. I truly though he would pick SMU or TCU if he wanted to stay in Texas not Texas Tech

Makes no sense about Frazier. I thought for sure he would end up with Larry Brown at SMU for coaching reason and proximity (he lives in Dallas after all)...now he wants to go all the way out to Lubbock? Lubbock is almost as far away from his home as Baton Rouge is.

Not to mention in the article it clearly states they have an interim coach who is the only one recruiting him yet they are having a coaching search right now to replace him. Sooooo....why would he end up there? Makes no sense.

If he is willing to go that far away, shite, go get him Johnny Jones. He is that missing link from a good to great team.

SG Jake Allsmiller visited us today unofficially I just saw. Kid is a tall catch and shoot SG, love to shoot the three (made 100 as a freshman). I cant find out what his shooting percentage is but he looks to have a quick release but very limited athleticism.

Obviously, we wouldn't mind landing some of his teammates on Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville as well.

Yeah. I'm a bit surprised to see us recruiting so much in Tennessee, but gotta go get good players wherever they are.

Getting Lindsey and Allsmiller wouldn't be bad, just start worrying about numbers, thats all.

I just looked at who TTU or SMU have signed.
SMU: 2012 1 4* and 4 2* or NR players I am not a stargazer by any means bu tome on, 2013 1 3*, a JUCO and another NR. I just do not see it and TTU is not any better.
There has got to be more: Mom wants him to stay close, kid, or money, or a combo. There are no advantages to any except Larry Brown HOF and SMU is in Dallas.

I agree completely. I don't think LSU can beat out Indiana for a kid without some special tie to LSU.

Exum did play at Canberra with Malone in Australia. More than just playing together it seems to me they are pretty good buddies. Maybe Malone gets in his ear some. Plus it has to be nice to have some feeling of home when you are moving across the world.

Im sure Exum may like IU, but we have Malone working for us. And there is already a guard committed to Indiana with a few 5 star guards listed as interested. Now Im not sure where Exum is on Indiana's big board, but we should watch the room there is to go there.

I remember somebody posting that Exum said that Malone was a benchwarmer or something to that effect, I am not sure though.
Anyways if we get Exum, then I will go out on a limb and say we get Simmons.
Exum ever since the Adidas Nations has been in contact with Martin, and actually both Exum and Simmons looked at transferring to Madison Prep!

Definitely cant fault Johnny Jones and staff for trying. They work their asses off to get top players in the country, it already paid off for 2013 recruiting, hopefully it does the same for 2014 recruiting.

Was it Ricardo Gathers who said Trent Johnson didn't even come to any of games for a long time despite him being in our own backyard?

According to Russell, the trip was a success.

“I appreciate them taking time out of their day and coming down here to watch me practice and offering me a free education,”

D'Angelo Russel, I will add tomorrow to the SG list. Even if we do not have a shot it still gets people excited and show your are trying, with Trent it seemed like he always worked harder or just as hard as the backup or Plan B guys. Do I think TJ is a bad coach no, I think TJ was just not a good fit. Once we start to win games these visits CJJ and staff take will have more meaning. Also it is not a total loss because a relationship has been established with a well respected D-1 program in Montverde.
