Anyone know the scoop about Simmons choosing to go to high school in Florida rather than Baton Rouge? Is this significant do you think about where he might go to college?

This day and age nott so much, had he gone to Madison I would say LSU lock. But Montverde is a highly respected basketball D-1 factory does not have an allegiance to one school in Florida, or any school for that matter.

Well, Montverde is a ridiculous basketball school and Madison Prep is a class B charter school in a terrible area of Baton Rouge.

He didn't necessarily have to go there. There's plenty of other schools where he would have been taken in (I know he would have been accepted with open arms at Patrick's alma mater).

And at a few other schools as well.

But the rumor was that he was looking at Madison Prep, that's why I referenced them.

Could you imagine him on that UHigh team with all the freshmen? Or at Curtis with Morgan's little brother and Khalea Turner? Ridiculous.

That's what I said before the parentheses.

I don't think he'd be too good of a fit there since he'd be forced to play center at most small schools.

I can't believe how many LA HS kids there are in this class in the 6'9" range. It seems like we went years with only one or no big men and we have a half dozen in 2014. It's too bad we can't take them all. We definitely need to take the great guards such as Exum and a one of the PGs if we can get them. It's just too bad we can't spread these guys out over several classes.

The chances become higher and higher as he plays more in the US. I believe he is a one and done, but he will be one of the first overseas players to be a lottery pick in a while.

2 drafts ago(2011) 5 of the 1st 7 picks were overseas players. Not uncommon for overseas guys to go in the lottery

Out of the 2011 class only one has done anything and that js Kanter and he really should not even count with him signing and practicing with Kentucky. With a guy like Smart choosing to stay makes it seem like there is more hope. Tristan Thompson was from Toronto and played at Texas, do not consider him international. I refer to international players that have never played in the US at the college level, and that have their primary residence in another country. Days of the Dirks and Divacs are seemingly over.

Exum measured in at 6'6 with an almost 6'10 wingspan at the Hoop Summit and looks great in practices apparently. At this point it's just a matter of if he wants to play in college for a year, he's on everybody's radar for the 2014 lottery.

Yeah, kid is really special, you rarely see SG's these days with great size and length and then Exum has PG skills on top of it all. From the sound of things at the Summit Exum is going to jump into the Parker/Gordon/Harrison/Randle tier of 2014 prospects (behind Wiggins of course).
