You may want to re-read my post. Nowhere in it did I say it sucked to live in LA, rather I asked if anyone had actually considered moving because of conditions. And instead of any serious answers (well a few anyways), I get stupid replies like "well because it's not Georgia"
Why do you live in Georgia if there are tornadoes? Is there a hurricane device in Georgia somewhere that repels them? Georgia will never be smashed with a hurricane for the rest of eternity?
Think before you post. You really come off as a serious troll.

You're going to continually get raped in this thread. But it isn't just LA or the LA coast.
I could deal with the storms, wind, power outages because we have that here with tornadoes and snow/ice storms. it is having my home flood that would drive me nuts.

I spent three days in Atlanta last week. I was never happier to leave a place as I was on the third day.....and I've been to Dushanbe, Tajikistan!

Why would you be worried of some rain and wind then?

That is the easy part to avoid.

As an outsider, I could never even imagine myself wanting to move there and put up with that mess.
First, we are not a bunch of pussies. Second, we have more culture here than anyone else in the south or country for that matter. Third, our LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints have won championships this century. Finally, I have been to Georgia many times and I always come back feeling like "meh".
Thanks for the other kind words though. Im just not in the mood to hear people talking shite on us right now.

The media blows these hurricanes way out of proportion. Ever since one bad hurricane (Katrina), everyone thinks every storm will be just like that one. I live about 70 miles from the coast and I have never seen people act this way about any storm. You could have sworn the sky was falling. The weather right now is a small wind about 12 MPH and not hot... its kinda nice.

Here is what i don't get about people from other states that freak about hurricanes after Katrina. You probably have a much much greater chance of losing your home if you live in tornado ally in the midwest prairies. And you sure as frick are screwed if you live in California. It seems like every other week all year, there is a fricking fire that is burning everything down there. Why in the frick would anyone want to live in California?

Message Posted by ugasickem pretty sensitive group over here. I was asking a serious question. After Katrina, Georgia actually saw a lot of migration to my shithole state from Louisiana.
People in Louisiana are very defensive about their home. Most people probably are but few are asked to defend it so much.
As a native though I can say Louisiana is a dump but it's not bc the hurricanes that I want to leave.

Why live anywhere on planet earth? The moon appears much more calmer.

I was born in Georgia. I went to High School and college in Georgia. I found a job in Georgia and bought a house on the lake in Georgia. I have never experienced a hurricane or tornadoe do any type of damage to any of the aforementioned properties whatsover in Georgia. There was one year where it snowed pretty good in my lifetime, and i was a kid in middle school, so i had a blast. The mountains aren't far away from me here where i live in Georgia. My family also owns some beach front property in Georgia that is only a couple hours away. My family lives here in Georgia and that is basically why I reside here in Georgia. It not that bad, actually. I hope Georgia doesn't get smashed by a hurricane for the rest of my lifetime. I'd say the odds on that are in LA's favor.

Well that's true, but there's a time and a place and right now is not the time to be trolling.

Exactly, if you think about leaving because of weather/ natural disasters then you're an idiot
