What's it doing your way? I wish it would knock out the power on campus.

Definitely worse than what came through last night that knocked out the power, but I still have power right now.

The boat they were on wasnt big enough to get the entire family off one roof so the son got off the boat and waited for them to come back for him.

this is why I love La. we have some weird eccentric folks that live in the state and we have a ridiculous fan base for LSU but our people will die for each other. Its in their blood

Got a coworker in Laplace that is trying to get back to new Orleans. I know I10 is closed. Is Airline still closed? What's the route into the city?

I went up to my families business this morning and took a small tour of the area. lots of felled trees and minor wind damage to businesses. power lines down. flooding in many areas (That normally flood).

I was in Baton Rouge for Gustav, and I would say that the damage in NOLA is near what BR had for Gustav, maybe slightly worse, but it is still raining heavily right now, so more flooding could occur.

I still have power, but 90% of Orleans and Jefferson do not.

but it looks like NOLA is in a lot better shape than the surrounding parishes

Looking at an hour long radar loop, and what is left of the eye sat over Winnfield that entire hour. Slidell getting pounded with more thunderstorms. When is something going to get this thing moving? I need the river to drop NOW!

Power just went out for about 15 seconds. I was about to be pissed if I made it through everything else without losing power and then lost it today.
