I need a new stainless refrigerator, around 33” wide, without an ice maker or water dispenser. NOT made in China and preferably made in the USA. I know it’s a tall order but there just has to be one out there that is decent quality. They all seem to be garbage except for Viking and Sub Zero but I need something under $1500.

We went with Frigidaire, we are happy with our appliances. Stay away from electronic company appliances, though.

Anything under the Whirlpool umbrella ought to be good - obviously, not every single one.
We looked for the same thing you described you want. We HAD to settle for a unit with ice/water dispenser. Good luck finding one without.

$1,399.00
Whirlpool - 33-inches wide Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator with SpillGuard™ Glass Shelves - 22 cu. ft

Do NOT buy Samsung is the only advice I can give.

Fridges made in USA
Some GE branded units might still be assembled in the US, but the quality has gone to hell since Chinese company Haier bought the GE Appliances name.

We used to be loyal GE Appliances customers but will never buy that brand again.

Consider yourself lucky.

I wouldn’t buy a Maytag TV and I’m not buying a Samsung fridge.

Remember, Kenmore makes nothing. Look up the model number, the numbers will tell you who makes the appliance.

If in BTR, I use Stanton’s, call ask for Kathy, make an appointment. She’s been selling appliances longer than anyone I know.

I'll give my single experience fwiw. Got a side-by-side Frigidaire Gallery about maybe 9 months ago. The first one swelled up so much when it came down to temp the freezer door wouldn't seal. fridge repairman said its a common issue with the way the insulate them. After some headache lowe's replaced it. 9 months later the door ice dispenser is broken. Started a couple weeks ago as intermittent issue, now rarely works. Something in the mechanism in the door is slipping, warranty is expired so need to take it apart and see whats up. would not recommend. However, on the flip side, my brother has a Frigidaire Gallery w/ bottom freezer and has had 0 issues.

I have one, came with my house, it’s ok.
Like I say, I direct all my questions to Kathy.

I've had a Frigidaire Professional refrigerator and freezer for the past 7 years with no problems at all.

after a lightning surge fried the brain on a fancy arse Viking, we went back with a Kitchen-aid model. It's very nice and works awesome, well-made. I'm sure they have something in the options you desire.

I have the freestanding French door Frigidaire Professional. New in January 2023. By April, the freezer ice maker was out. In the process of being replaced/repaired right now. Luckily it has one in the fridge also. I find it to be fairly noisy overall. And both ice makers are very slow to produce. So if your heavy user, I would look elsewhere. We fill 3 tumblers of ice each morning and 1 glass of ice for dinner. The fridge ice maker barely keeps up.

I also have a 10 year old French door gallery in my shed as a beer fridge. Flawless. The Professional replaced a side by side 12 year old Gallery in my kitchen. Main board went bad and is obsolete now.

Personal experience with 2 Whirlpool units tells me NOT to ever buy another. Unless you like problems.
