Crushed limestone, deck, raised beds, ground cover...whatcha got?
I'd like a clean look with pathways in between.

Do something with various colors of gravel. I'd personally go for natural colors but if a person wanted to go purple/gold of mardi gras festive colors to each their own.
Could make a fake pond even

You could try trimming up those water oak limbs with an extended pole saw. Palmetto St. Augustine grass would maybe grow.

Dwarf mondo grass
Dwarf can take a long time to fill in. I’ve had better results with the regular variety filling in an area faster. But still a good alternative.

Mondo, liriope, jasmine, walking iris?, azaleas?, camellias?

New pictures after cleaning up a bit.
I actually think sod will work where it’s green with clovers now. I’ll be adding dirt and regrading the entire yard before anything else.
Patio or deck (or both) suggestions for this area??

Thinning out your tree canopy can go a long way to making grass work.
