Last year mulch was on sale for $2 per bag (50% off) around this time. Does anyone know if this is an annual sale, or was just last year.

Need about 20 bags, so about $40 in savings. Trying to figure out if I need to wait another week or two or buy now.

They're usually around $5 a bag when not on sale so sounds like a good deal.

They do something like this every year. I'd wait and see

From Slickdeals.com

Starting March 30, 2023.

Spring Fest is back with their mulch sale. Red, Black or Brown colored mulch, 5/$10 or $2 per bag.

I happened to be at Lowe's and asked the employee stacking pallets of mulch when the sale would occur. He told me March 30 this year.

Things to keep in mind
1) Mulch quality varies and is produced somewhat regionally. I've never had any garbage in mine, but others have.
2) It may be cheaper to get it delivered in bulk from your local garden center
3) Sale doesn't start yet!

Is it cheaper to just buy the truck bed full from a local nursery?

If you're buying in bulk, I've found that local nurseries and landscape centers have the best prices on high quality mulch.

I hope we see $2/bag but with inflation I doubt it

You’re the man! This is exactly what I was asking for.

I put this cheap stuff in my beds. Looks fine, I prefer it over pine straw. Neighbor puts black, doesn’t look good. At least it’s not the red color!

Wonder if they will have rubber mulch on sale? I would assume probably not.

Spend the extra money and use softscape. Doesn't hold moisture like wood mulch. (which can attract termites) Softscape stays where you put it and last a long time. You just have to barely touch-up following year

they wait until everyone has planted and it stops selling, then they put it on sale.

you are a bit early so give it a few more weeks and after easter the sales will be out

What is softscape made of? I use cedar to deter bugs.

Not to be a downer, but I've read thats the cause of us losing a huge number of Cypress trees. I don't buy Cypress mulch.
