With Honda exiting the lawnmower market I would get an HRX now before they are gone.

I have the original ego mower, just about 5 years. Works fine, wet, tall, etc.. I don't bag, but mulch instead. Occasionally bogs down and lifting the deck solves that. Battery just quit on me at the end of this summer and I will get a replacement in the spring. Blower and battery still going strong

We have some EGO zero turns at Hills Equipment. I was skeptical but they are actually pretty impressive. Also has a 5 year mower warranty and 3 year battery. As far as I can tell, we have the best price too! $4,995.

I'm actually leaning towards getting one more Honda before they go away. I'm just not sold on the battery technology yet.

A neighbor has an ego zero turn and it does a nice job and looks more powerful than you would think.

Strong price though.

Although I bought an Ego mower this year, battery technology and price has me concerned. As of now, I would have to pay about $350 to replace my battery. That would buy a lot of gas. Many years worth - more years than the battery will survive I am sure.

But I enjoy the mower more than a gas powered one.

I like my Kobalt 80v setup just fine.

To be fair, I only bought it because my wife needed to mow once and refused to use the Greenworks plug-in mower with my 80ft extension cord. I liked that thing just fine for my yard (corner lot, 1/4 acre , back is fenced and landscaped along the fencing, and i am landscaped all along the front and side as well.

If I had any bigger of a yard, the plug in would’ve been out. If my yard were up to about double the size, i would probably still use the battery.

I can’t wait til my wife approves 5-10 acres in the middle of nowhere.

It is never a good time to buy a battery powered mower...gas mowers last for decades if you keep them out the weather, and never leave gas in the carburetor...

Is battery technology good enough to switch over to the mower as well?

Push mower? I have the Stihl RMA 510V. My yard has a spot or two my Exmark ECX 21" was too heavy for when they were wett-ish. I bought the RMA 510 to use in those times since I have all the Stihl pro-line battery stuff. I use the Stihl 90% of the time now. Generally speaking it has the power to handle wet grass and heavy growth to an extent. I keep my yard mowed around 2.5" and it usually keeps up as long as it isn't 4"+ or so.

I hose down my mower all the time. How do you clean them?

I hose mine down. I'm careful with it, usually propping it up and only spraying off the underside of the deck and blowing off the rest but I haven't had issues yet.

It isn't for everyone and the price is ridiculous if we're being honest. My battery Stihl Kombi unit is the absolute shite but I think the mowers are still probably 2-3 years away from being strong replacements tech wise. Price wise IDK when they'll become practical.

Get in line and get your name on one. It isn't looking like there will be a ton available. They're still filling backorders from last year.

My lot needs a rider, but I'm not ready to join this experiment and I don't think it could handle my hill anyway. Comes with 12 batteries and 3 chargers though, only $5k!

Did you get the Select Cut?

Yes. Works great. Have only used the mulching blades though.

I think there are bagging blades and low power usage blades to extend the runtime. Low power blades may not give as smooth a cut. I have only mulched, so don’t know how those perform.
