I'm in The Woodlands and strongly considering getting this set up. Mind me asking the cost? Wife is pregnant and although we were never in that bad of shape, I'd prefer to be more prepared in the future since we deal with power outages for storms, but don't expect to need to evacuate much.

I also got quotes from Generator Supercenter, Generator Power Systems, and Storm Guardian Generators.

Roughly 13,000 give or take. I don’t have the quote in front of me but I think 1,200 or so of that was the gas/electrical run from my gas meter and panel to where I wanted the generator placed.
My wife is also pregnant (8 months) and this past week has made me incredibly glad I pulled the trigger when I did. It ran for a couple of days and then off and on as the rolling blackouts happened. Was kind of worried about it that first day because it hadn't been tested yet, but after that first day I didn't even worry about it.
Did laundry, took hot showers, watched tv, cooked, etc all like normal. Neighborhood was dark as pitch except for us and one other house.
Generac gets tons of hate but I'm pretty happy.

Starting to look at these also. Looking at the Kholer 30kw liquid cooled in south La. Are there any advantages in warmer weather with liquid vs air cooled? Kholer vs Cummins- any major differences?

I just ordered a 30kw Cummins from Gage. I figured I didn't need that many kw but the 24kw was only 300$ less.
I went with the 30kw liquid cooled Cummins.

I am in the same boat. May not need that many kw, but rather have the option to run every single thing in the house if needed. Why did you choose the liquid cooled?

First, it is as quiet as an air conditioner unit. Second, it is more efficient and can run for longer between maintenance intervals.
In my previous home I had a cummins liquid cooled for 4 years and had zero problems with it.

I’m in Baton Rouge off Hoo Shoo Too and I ordered a 24kw Generac for $8675 installed. I ordered November 10th and it will not be installed until mid March or April at this point. I suggest if you’re wanting to get one order it ASAP because if you wait a coulple months you will miss hurricane season for sure after Texas orders millions of them.

Whatever brand you choose get one that runs at 1800 rpm. The 3600 rpm units are cheaper but cannot handle continuous duty as well as an 1800 rpm unit. Their are other advantages, but regardless of brand the 1800 rpm units will be better... and more expensive.

Norwall Generators
Excellent site....Had no issues getting one. It was crated very good and was lift gate delivery. Zero Issues.
If this helps getting one and getting it installed later.

How much more is a liquid cooled over an air cooled for say around a 22-25kw?

Just had a 22kw Generactor installed with 250 gal tank, we live in The country so no issue with the tank, but I had a fence put around the tank. Got a local electrician who installs these to hook it up, pour the slab. $8800 Total w gas, including the fence. It's comes on every Friday at 1pm and runs for five minuets to charge the battery. Gas Company brought the tank and hooked it up to the the generator and filled it. $650.
We didn't lose power last week and we have a well so no issues but it felt good haveing this as back up.
