It's going well so far. I'm having a gabled patio cover with a modified lean-to built. The frame is up and the wiring is done. Only issue so far is the 3 posts cemented in the ground all have the same forklift damage to them. I personally don't care about it but my wife wants new posts. Frank said he was gonna replace them. Dealing with this company has been no different than dealing with the many contractors I've dealt with since ida.

Any of those posters in this thread that are in the process of using them willing to NOW share your experience and thoughts on their crews?

I'm still dealing with them. I went off on frank last week. He's been a pain in my arse. I can't wait for this to be done. But his crew has done great work.

What stage are you at? Framing? Pavers? Electrical? Finish Woodwork? Or Staining? I’m thinking by your response you haven’t gotten to pavers yet.

@success. Any way you’d be willing to discuss your project? Heard so many issues with this company and don’t want to use them if I don’t have to, but there are very few companies I’ve found who will do ours and it’s a big project. Getting desperate to just go with them and gut it out.

@BamaTiger - don’t. I’ll leave it at that. Just don’t.

Yeah I know what that feels like. They desperately need a Job Foreman that goes onsite at least once a week. Someone that can help manage expectations and oversee the menagerie of contracted labor they use.

In the end I am enjoying my patio but damn it has taken a lot of work and patience.

You use them or do it yourself? I’m pretty handy. I can do the kitchen, but the structure is massive and needs a legit builder.

I do my fair share of backyard patios. I like to build off of architectural drawings. If there are no drawings, sometimes the clients have an issue with specifics in the design. This has raised eyebrows on some jobs so we don’t usually wing it off of a napkin drawing unless it’s straight forward.

I’d suggest have someone draw you up a design if there are some questionable tie in’s and angles. The plans will be simple to price and hold to when all said and done.

Downfalls; you might get backlisted by an architect if it’s a smaller job, you will obviously be paying for the plans. I find taking your time and getting drawings is usually the smart thing to do.

There are two custom outdoor concepts listed on the LSLBC site. One is a home improvement contractor. The other is recently licensed as of this year. I have plenty of subs who are licensed as home improvement & are stellar craftsmen, so that’s not saying much. Maybe get the guy to send some references and photos.
