Let's talk merger OT and Off topic board on SEC Rant

My thoughts I think this is an idea that would open up communication amongst all SEC fans and establish some friendships. The OT is segregated of mostly LSU fans and the Off topic mostly comprised of all other SEC schools. How about when the off topic link is pressed in the sec rant they go to the OT or vice versa. I mean the OT deals with life issues or everyday questions and most are universal among all fanbases. Some feel on the OT that it has lost its luster and the other board could use a boost. I think everyone getting to know each other personally could lead to some friendly conversations and get together on road trips for some fans. I know I could just click on the off topic board but feels weird I have been on tigerdropping for awhile now and hardly know anyone on the SEC rant. If we had one board we would have no choice but to talk with other fans. Thanks for your time. Just my .02

I must say no to you, and I will give you my reasons. It's true, I have a lot of friends among the mods, but they wouldn't be friendly very long if they knew my forum was the SEC Rant instead of the OT, which they regard as a harmless vice. But the SEC Rant is a dirty business. It doesn't make any difference to me where a man posts, understand. But your forum can be -- a little dangerous.

My forum? I post there just because I started there when the off topic board was non existent. I live in gator and bulldog territory and I do know a few gator posters that live in Jacksonville. Just thought it would be good to put all these various fans in one forum and see where it leads. Maybe learn a little more culture from around the SEC. We have students graduating from college maybe this could lead to a job in another region of the country or let some fans that enter hostile territory on GameDay a friendly opposing fan. I get what you are saying though.

IIRC, one of the reasons the SEC Rant pushed for their own Off-Topic lounge was because they felt the OT was Louisiana-centric and wanted their own place to BS.

Then post non-Louisana centered topics on there. It's dumb to have two boards. People generally want as much diverse feedback as possible to their topics.

Seems like this request would need to come primarily from non-LSU fans to even be considered legit. Pretty sure the majority SEC Rants posters are satisfied with having their own non-sports talk board. The SEC Rant Sports forum stays more on topic with the SEC Off topic board around.
