Chicken, how about a ban for posters after a certain # of down votes?

If a post or more importantly, a thread is so awful that it draws hundreds of down votes, maybe that poster should take a seat for a few days/weeks/months.
Something like:
200 down votes and you sit for a week.
300 and you sit for a month.
500 and you sit for a year.
750 and you sit for life
As I post this I realize the likely outcome is me getting many down votes
so think of all I have sacrificed to request this very important feature.
Eta: To be clear, this is for a single post, not an accrual of your down votes. If one post gets 300 down votes you get a break for a minute.

I don't think I've even eclipsed 100. I'll get 30-50 for talking shite about comic book movies or The Patriot or Independence Day. Adds up tho

Maybe not downvotes, but a certain ratio of downvotes, say -1000 is a ban for life. So if you have 1000 downvotes, but 50 upvotes, no ban, but if you have 1200 downvotes, and 50 upvotes, ban.

My thread was mainly aimed at ballscaster for getting over 750 down votes on his horrible post and in jest. It's for a single post or thread, not all-time so they wouldn't lose any ad revenue. The thread would still be there, the poster would just take a seat. People will still click the thread and down vote him. It's not so serious anyway, relax.

What about people with downvote stalkers? I haven't ever gone over like 3 per post. I think one of my downvote stalkers died a few months back, and another one took the helm now

We're talking a single post getting 200+ down votes, which hasn't happened much at all. The #s could be changed to higher but when someone gets 200 down votes on a single post its likely a very shitty post. Or they're trolling so a few days off would be alright, maybe needed This isn't an accrued down vote count.
