Looks like I should just be able to tighten it with an allen wrench. Anything I'm missing here? Bike/shoes are only 3 weeks old

Did your shoes come with the clips already on them? I didn't get the Peloton shoes, but found some on Amazon similar to the ones I used on my mountain bike. I had to install mine. Make sure they're tight, and check them after every few rides. Even if they don't feel loose, they can shift a little. And if you've never used clips before, it might be a good thing to go to a bike shop and make sure they're in the right spot for your foot. I started with mine dead center in all of the holes, but realized I needed to shift them back a little to hit my foot right.

Just did a ride with Sam Yo. Guy put us through the paces on the resistance (in the 60's with cadence around 100) but he did less of the rah rah stuff I've seen with the other instructors I've tried.

When I first got our bike a couple of months ago, I kept trying a different instructor for each ride. I was mostly doing the beginner 20 minute classes for the first couple of weeks. Just checked, and I started with Matt Wilpers, and my second one was Sam Yo. I didn't care for him at all. It seemed too slow and easy, but it was a beginner class. I sort of settled into a pattern of Alex Toussaint, Ben Alldis, Denis Morton, with a little Kendall and Cody mixed in. I took a 30 minute 90s rock ride of Sam's from back in October last night, and it was awesome. Minimum resistance was 45 through most of it, and it had two 10 minute climbs with just a short break between them. Even the warmup was pushing it. Glad I came back around and tried him again.

I have the Peloton shoes and can definitely see where the clip has shifted on the bottom even after 8-10 rides. Left foot has much more play in it than the right.

I like Alex, still finding a group of instructors that I like, some have been hit or miss. Glad you gave Sam another shot, he loves to kill you on the resistance pushes.

Yeah Alex is my go to most days. I'm still fairly new to it, so I can just filter on 20/30 minutes and instructor, and find something. I'm about to do one of the power zone tests and get on a more scheduled pace, rather than just riding 3-5 times a week when I feel like it. I did drag my ancient dumbbells up and cleaned them off from living in the basement, and have started some of the strength classes. Those high resistance rides are great for the legs, but I need to do some upper body stuff as well. I haven't seen definition in my quads since high school. Part of that is losing 35 lbs, the rest is all the bike work.

I'm doing some sort of workout every day in the lead up to my wedding, need to find some weights though as everything so far has been runs and Peloton rides.

Back in high school, or as I like to call it now, the stone ages, my Dad bought me a set of Soloflex adjustable dumbbells. I think I've talked about them in here before, but you can load them up evenly from 5 to 35 lbs. It has 4 each of the 2.5, 5, and 10 lb plates. We also have some lighter ones, my wife has the 1 lb and 3 lb coated ones, and I had a set of 8 lb ones. After searching a good bit online for more of the quick change sets, I realized I'm not going to pay what they're wanting for those and will just deal with what I have for now. I might grab a set of 20s or 25s, and some 40s or 45s so I can alternate between medium and heavy quicker than changing my adjustable ones.

I wish the Peloton weights classes would actually tell you what movements are being done, as the one I did last week was all shoulders and curls. I'd like to find some that hit all upper body in one class, or if they are focused on certain movements, say that in the class descriptions.

The intermediate bodyweight workouts are good if you don't have weights.

That is what I've been doing while I wait for my KBs to come in.

I tried Lanebreak yesterday. Just did a quick 10 minute ride at easiest difficulty. It was fun. Def makes the ride go by really fast. Like Sonic the hedgehog meets Tron.

I’ll def sprinkle in some of those rides in. I can imagine you get a decent workout on some of them (esp if you pick the hardest difficulty).

ETA: Any of y’all catch that Alex T won MVP at the celebrity NBA all star game?

I'll look into this as the prices for weights have gone through the roof. Need to just wait and pick up a set off of Craigslist or something.

I got my butt kicked last night on a Tabata ride. The only other one I did with any Tabata training, it was just a smaller part of a HIIT and Hills ride. This one was with Alex from 9/16/2021, and it was a 30 minute Tabata class. I wasn't sure what this meant going in, but boy do I know now. It is a ton of intervals. 20 second push, 10 second recovery, and you do this over and over and over and over and over again. He said it was 31 intervals in a 30 minute class. I was sweating so much it looked like I just got out of the pool when it was over.

Have any of your newer guys done the FTP test yet? Thinking of doing it this weekend so I can do more PZ rides.

Haven't done this, but once I finish my current program that's what I am switching too and going to start a PZ program. From what I hear that's one of the best things as a new rider.

I have done a couple of Jess King's ( . )( . ) sweat steady rides which are basically PZ rides. They will definitely make you sweat and test your endurance.

I did an FTP test before.

Treat it like a ride. Do not work out before. It kicks your butt all on its own You want to be able to give 100% on it to get accurate zones for you

Well it took me a couple of weeks to build but finally got 400 on the last 30 min Kendall metal ride

That took some effort

Still no idea how some of these guys are hitting 700+ on these 30 min rides

I’m still below 250 on a 30 minute ride. Although I did PR the other night just shy of that. I think either 246 or 248. Hoping to break 300 before too much longer.

A lot of it is because people bikes are jacked up. Did a ride at a hotel and put up absolutely stupid numbers. I had to delete it because the PR was out of wack

Main drawback to buying a used one. No warranty protection at all

I love my bike but I am very frustrated with Peloton customer service and the warranty work I need done.

Pedal snapped off in the crank arm on February 1st. Spoke with them the day after, no way to get it out and just replace pedals and the entire crank arm has to be replaced.

Literally have warranty until April so I got lucky this is warranty work and that I don't have to pay the $100 tech fee (Although, they are not concerned with warranty work and at this point I would gladly pay the $100 tech fee if it would get an appointment quicker.)

To say that dealing with their customer service is a nightmare, is, a complete understatement. Did not seem like it would be difficult at first. Called them the day after and they scheduled an appointment for February 18th.

They cancelled that appointment on February 15th due to a "scheduling conflict." They said the technician would call to re-schedule. I understand Peloton contracts out to a company for scheduling and repairs and they are NOT on the same page with this company. Called them on February 18th (date of my original appointment) for an update. They say the tech will reach out to us in a "couple" of days. Have emailed about 5 times and called about 5 times since the 18th. As of March 1, still no phone call and still no date of repair in sight.
