Just saw it today. I remember when I started working out 10 years ago, Ronnie was the only thing on YouTube I’d watch. The most entertaining bodybuilder ever. I don’t think anybody was more respected by their peers than Ronnie was. Now he can’t even walk without crutches, it’s depressing.

I have watched Ronnie train a couple of times in the gym I grew up lifting in Monroe. He is from Bastrop and before he moved all of his family to Dallas, he would come into Moore’s if he was in town for a while. He was a beast but the amount of gear, HGH, and insulin he was on, he is lucky to still be functional.

He's really not. He just had a major back surgery a couple of years ago just to be able to walk again. His body is falling apart.

He just had another surgery and couple of weeks ago and said on his insta that he may never walk (I assume unassisted) again.

“Everybody wanna bodybuilder but don’t nobody wanna lift this heavy arse weight......I’ll do it though”

well you have to figure that he probably isn't that smart, probably his only shot at big time.

Arnold was the exception among bodybuilders in that he is actually highly intelligent.

Most overly used quote from my HS football team, and I still absolutely love it

Ronnie Coleman has an accounting degree (from Grsmbling) , but was a police officer by day.

Just watched it. Very interesting documentary.

It was weird seeing him with his 4 young kids. Evidently all those drugs didn’t affect his fertility

I watched it last night. That was depressing and scary. I've always been an old school power lifter. After watching that, I'm wondering when I need to start dialing it back. I'm in my late 30s now. I don't want to have back surgery when I'm in my 50s.

Are you taking enough steroids to kill a horse and pushing your body far beyond its natural limits? If not, then you are ok

Just started watching and I guess I never really understood how successful he was in competitions. Thought he was more of an internet sensation.

May be a stupid question, but are steroids completely unregulated at that level? or do they still have basic rules they have to dance around?

Steroids are mandatory. People aren't 5'10, 287 at sub 5% bf because they drink their milk.

There's no testing I'm aware of. There was some diuretic testing after a few deaths, but even that...there's no real dancing.

Yeah I realize they all take them, I just didn't know if they had regulations just to save face with clear loop holes, or if anything and everything was fair game.

I think the diuretics came in around the early 2000's for a bit after a few severe health issues. Anabolics, androgenics, GH and Insulin really never, though.

There are natural bodybuilding organizations. You can see the difference.

Calum Von Moger had a post on IG talking about eating Trenbolone sandwiches yesterday. All these guys are juicing bad, but at least it seems some of them are starting to be more honest about it. Watching the whole Ronnie Coleman, it's never mentioned.

Rich Piana (rip) was one of the more open guys about it on social media. Because of his openness, alot of industry insiders did not like him
