The company I work for gives us $300 every year to use towards our physical and/or mental well-being

We are allowed to include our spouse, of course as long as we are there or part of the activity

most people put that towards their gym membership or a couples day at a Spa, but I wanted to do something different.

Has anybody here done something with their wife along the lines of goat yoga, couples retreat, cooking lessons, or some other activity that’s out of the ordinary?

Please spare the comments around swingers clubs, booze, and drugs.

TIA

goat yoga

Dare I google this?

We have had someone come in and cook Indian food with us. They brought all the spices and herbs, we provided the meat and vegetables and rice and basic items, and then we prepared a feast that would be typical for a wedding in northern India. It was cool because we learned some about their traditions as well as cooing techniques and what spices to buy/use together.

This worked really well, but I don’t know how widely available it is. I think we bought it in a fundraiser…

My wife is easy.

We bought a canoe and take the dog fishing on the weekends. She loves it. We never saw another person.

Nothing to add but really cool that your company does this. I really need a new job.

The only thing my wife and I do as a couple is have sex. To our credit we are fairly prolific in the endeavor but it occurred to me the other week that's the only activity we do.

We have two kids so its not like we have a ton of time but yes, I would like to have some other shared interests.

Pretty much the same here, but we’ll go see movies together and we both run PPSA programs.

No, and we should find something to do besides watching shows. Between work, a toddler, a 7 week old and my own training it can be hard to find time. Football season is about done, so that frees up a lot of hours.

Is this like a weekly date? Daily? How old are y’all?

I’m kind of in the same boat. We’re either running the house, being with the kids, or fricking. We rarely watch a tv show unless it’s the holidays. We go on a date once every three months, maybe. We haven’t taken a vacation together since 2017, and even that was just one night in Nashville.

Most of the reason is because our kids are sick all. the. time. And then we have so many commitments (grad school, soccer season x2, basketball season, school functions, etc) that we rarely have a free moment in the schedule.

So our marriage is pretty much sex 1-2 times a week.

Almost 50

Sex at least 3x week. We both work from home so that helps.

I think our issue is just that we don’t have many shared interests. Or we haven’t really made the effort to find any. I’m more active and she’s more intellectual. She’s either working or shopping.
It’s not an issue at the moment but I think once the kids get a little older we will need to find something to do together.

We did a couples massage about a month ago and it was worth the money but weekly date nights are another thing that we do together. The dates are usually only an hour long but the time together is well spent.

Partial payment on 2 good bikes. Get out and ride 2-3 times per week for an hour. ROI will be much higher than a massage.

Tennis lessons, train and run a 5-10k together. Define your values, and write a personal, couple, and family mission statement.
