Is it nutritious? No. Is it giving you cancer and killing you? No substantial evidence has proven that to be the case.

Awful for your teeth, but ..

I have a Diet Coke each day. Sometimes 2. The average person cannot eliminate every single "bad" thing from their life entirely. Diet soda is just not a concern of mine. It holds me over when I'm hungry, and it tastes so good with certain foods.

Your main question should be - does this drink cause an insulin reaction? I don't know which sweeteners they use, as some artificial sweeteners do cause insulin spikes and others don't. For the ones that don't, if you love it that much, then have one a day or something and enjoy yourself.

I gave up diet soda and drink nothing but water and at least one powerade a day (sugar free, calories free)and also a protein shake once a day in the morning for breakfast which fills me up until lunch time. Been at it for two months and lost almost 20 lbs. I used to drink three soft drinks a day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Two months later, I do not even miss it one bit. I do like to drink a coke every once awhile however just not all the time like I used to.

Everybody listen to Jake...he knows....

Diet soda is just your body craving sugar.......What I learned about the diet soda connection is once I drank a soda...the rest of the day I craved candy, sweets, etc.....

When I switched to water....that craving disappeared.

What LL said.

I have a coke zero with lunch every day and often have a monster ultra zero in the morning, or as a preworkout.

for pure weight loss, your body sees it as nothing. Its perfectly fine.

Now for overall health, its not very good for you. But if you are having 1 a day or maybe 2....who cares. Its not going to make difference. Now I have some people in my famly who drink an 18 pack a day...at that point you are going a little crazy with it.

I've gone to almost strictly water or iced tea

Too much fear of artificial sweeteners and cancer

While this entirely does happen to some people, you cannot blanket it like that. I freaking despise sweets, and my daily Diet Coke doesn't magically make me want them.

I believe this stems from the majority of the type of people that drink diet soda. Stereotypes stem from truths, and the whole meme about obese people ordering jumbo Big Mac meals with a Diet Coke is definitely a thing. BUT. Just because diet soda is commonly consumed by people with unhealthy habits/relationships with food doesn't mean every single person who drinks one has that issue.

If you have good self control, diet soda is fine. Artificial sweeteners affect people in many different ways.

I used to drink 6 diet cokes a day, and would panic when supplies ran low. I switched to a vegetarian diet six years ago, and my urges for diet coke went away almost immediately. I have no idea why. I eat meat now but still rarely drink diet drinks.

Coke Zero and sometimes Sprite Zero are the only ones I can really tolerate, and not by themselves. I've never been a big soft drink drinker anyway though. I could go months without one, diet/fitness aside

Sweet tea is my weakness

I used to drink a soda a lot more often. I switched to flavored seltzer water to help stop the urge to drink soda.

this. Diet soda is poison. Yap its fine for weight loss & isnt nearly as bad as regular soda, but they aren't truly healthy people drinking diet drinks, esp daily. As for energy drinks, if you eat clean you shouldnt need an energy drink. What a glorious natural high & copious amounts of clean energy

Diet Dew and Zero Energy Drinks. I work out so I can enjoy the foods I like. Just have to eat and drink in moderation.
