tomorrow will make 2 weeks of early AM training, 5 days a week and I almost missed a few days but made myself get out of bed. Have more energy throughout the day and makes it very nice to go home after work. Very lucky my 10 month old sleeps all night

That's why I want to get up early. I just don't have time to get in 5 days a week.

Step 1. Got up at 4 this morning. However, it was for my son's surgery for tubes. Wasn't bad, just gotta do it.

Yep. The hardest part is throwing that first leg out of bed

After that I'm good to go.

Have you tried the alarms that make you solve math problems to turn them off? Those help me to where I just can't slap snooze again.

If you set your alarm on the dresser where you have to get out of bed to turn it off and you happen to be married to a female that is from South of I-10, this is really not an issue.

I've tried that before but I'm such a heavy sleeper that I kept sleeping through the alarm

Oh yes. I'm in engineering so math is second nature and I can do it in my sleep apparently. Does nothing lol

I tried it last year and was having to get up at like 4:30 to do it. I was unsuccessful.

That said, I put all of my shite for the gym in my bag to take to work and force myself to stop before I get home for the day. Otherwise it's hard as hell for me to get going. I did find it helps me unwind after work and act as that buffer between work BS and home.

I've given early training a shot a few times, and I don't mean a day here and there, I tried it for 2 & 3 weeks, but it never suited me. I know everyone says they feel better for the rest of the day after working out early, but I always tend to feel super tired & crappy the rest of the day. Sometimes I wonder, "Are these bastards actually training hard?"

I just can't get up & work out hard at 5am and then be good for the rest of the day. I tend not to sleep that well, I wake up a lot during the night & have trouble falling asleep as well, so it takes me longer to really wake up. I'm sure that's a factor. Now, I can go to bed at midnight and wake up at ~5am and then work out around 7am and be good.

Got up at 4 this morning, went for a bike ride then came home and hit the weights before my wife left for work and my kids got up.

I can't lift weights in the morning. I either go for a light jog or do some rounds on the heavy bag.

I'm a morning person though.
