How long did it take to get use to? I need to start but my sleep cycle trends towards late.

First thing in the morning? I feel like I'm sleepwalking.

Thankfully my current schedule allows me to go before lunch.

I had to start when my first kid was born 19 years ago. It was either train before work or not at all. Now, I automatically wake up at 0400. Took about 2 weeks to get used to lifting heavy that early and yes, you need to be in the rack before the 10PM news to get enough sleep. I would tip toe into lifting heavy until you can nail the right amount of pre-workout it takes to get your body primed for training. However, once you get on the early morning thing, you will not go back.

I have never gotten used to it . Some days, it's so easy. Some days, it's horrid to get up. But, when I do get up and knock it out, it makes the rest of the day so much more relaxing. I knocked out a 1 hr run at 4 a.m. this morning. Now I get to actually enjoy hanging out with the family after work instead of trying to squeeze that in.

I'm on week 2 of it right now. Almost over slept this morning.

It helps that I have a friend that meets me, so that keeps me honest.

I've been doing 4am for about a year now. I don't think I'm used to it still. I don't miss, but it's really hard some mornings. Like another poster said, it's nice to go home after work and not have to worry about it.

I'm in the same reasoning. I feel like I have to go workout when they go to bed but that is too late and I don't like it.

I been doing mornings for a long time. I am use to it but there are days I still feel like sleeping in.

I get up between 430 and 5. A good workout helps a great deal. I do feel better after I workout.

I cant workout in the evenings after work. Feel lazy and gym is usually packed then. If my gym was closer to work I would probably do a few lunch time workouts.

I've been doing it for a few months now. I try to be in bed before 10 to wake up at 440. I drink my pre-workout or coffee, and get out a caffeine-induced deuce before heading to the gym. I try to start working out around 540 ish. I like it. I feel much better throughout the day and have more energy and focus at work in the morning hours. And I don't have to worry about trying to get to the gym after work, which is almost impossible for me with a pregnant wife and a toddler.

However I do allow myself one day mid-week (W or Th) to skip the gym and sleep in (until my normal 7am wake up time) because if I don't I'm usually pretty exhausted by the end of the week. Mainly because I'm still not great at getting to bed early. Still working on that.

And on Saturdays I sleep in til about 7 but go to the gym first thing in the morning when I wake up.

The hardest part is getting out of the bed. After about 10 minutes or so, I'm fully awake and it's no different than going to workout any other time for me.

Took a couple of weeks to get used to and I've been doing it for about 9 months now. It's gotten to the point where I'm more tired now throughout the day if I don't go. Definitely still sucks sometimes.

I hate morning training. Hate it. I used to get up a 5am and head to the gym. Training that early, coffee is more important than testosterone.

My schedule would never mesh with me lifting that late and plus, my sleep would be all jacked up. It's actually the only way I can lift and still do BJJ and boxing.

I'm going to try it in the morning. I hope nobody challenges me or asks a stupid fricking question. Look at me, already cranky.

Did it for quite a while until about 6 months ago. Never really got any easier and in the winter it was very shitty being as I have a gym setup in the garage and it takes a lot longer to get loose when it's 45° in there. Doing mostly evenings now and have the baby (10 months) chilling in there with me in her walker with some snacks. Works pretty well bc once I'm done it's dinner time for her so we have a good routine when we get home from daycare. I want to try to get back into morning workouts though bc you really do feel great the rest of the day.

I love training in the morning. I just don't get to do it as much as I would like

This morning was a fail. Was woken up 3 times last night......no way I'm still getting up at 4 on 4 1/2 hours sleep. That is the biggest drawback of early am workouts. Especially with infants/toddlers. You never know when they won't let you sleep well.

We have our first baby due in a couple of weeks. I usually don't get home from work until 6-7 each night so I am going to have to switch to mornings. I'm not exactly looking forward to it.
