I need some advice on building upper body strength

I have a very strong lower body, but I am very weak up top. About to start working out more, and I was wondering if y'all could share a few tips on some good upper body exercises that'll give me some strength. It's embarrassing how weak I am sometimes.

Keep it simple. Focus on strength in 4 key exercises bench or incline barbell, strict overhead press, weighted chin-ups or regular chins, and deadlifts.
Pick a program that puts an emphasis on those things. I would highly suggest the greyskull lp or 531.

Dips, Chin ups, Pull ups, Military press and Deadlifts.
You don't have to do the body weight stuff weighted unless you can do 10 to 15 reps in one set.

5/3/1 Boring but big.
It'll probably wreck you. Hell, it may injure you.
But you'll put on mass and get stronger in the lifts lsu777 was talking about.

Yep 531 BBB is great. The original is what you should start with then go to the challenge.
Btw if you haven't brought 531 forever, you should, everyone should own it. With it you have templates for the rest of your life with explanations on how and how lon to run each and which should follow.

No I doubt. I ran base 5-3-1 for a long time. Got bored.
Did the 3 month BBB challenge. Hardest program I've ever done and will probably never do it again.
5/3/1 squat + 5x10 squat at 70% + 5x10 deadlift at 70% in the same workout is no joke.
Same can be said for 5/3/1 deadlift days.

You should really try big but sore and building the monolith eventually. Gonna sneak in building the monolith this winter sometime. Looks stupid hard.
What were your results on the bbb challenge?

Definitely got stronger in all lifts, especially OHP. I think I'll really see just how strong I got this month after I recover from it a bit.
I gained some size but nothing drastic. I also don't eat to gain muscle enormously quick. I'm cautious about that because I'm sure whatever muscle I gain I'll want to lose when I get older.
I try to gain yet stay very lean and those are obviously two competing elements so my gains are there - just slow. And I'm ok with that. I'm still strong for my size so thats all that matters.

Pull and push weight until you're sick and tired of it.
