Just started my first forever medication at 44. Thyroid numbers have been low the last 2 visits, so this is where I am.

Is this genetic? My aunt has issues and was always a normal weight and exercised. I’m overweight but I lift and I’m not sedentary. Any chance to reverse this? Lose the last 20-30lbs?

Try an elimination diet. You probably have some sort of food allergy or sensitivity. It may or may not be a cure but gives you a holistic starting point.

I have Hashimoto's. I've been on levothyroxine for probably 5 years now. In my case, my dad's side of my family all have had thyroid issues and also had to take levo/synthroid, so it's genetic.

I've tried elimination diets and they didn't change a thing that I measured. To my knowledge, there is no diet that has been formally studied that is known to reduce antibodies.

If this is given by a PCP, find an endocrinologist. They will save you time and frustration in trying to get your numbers right.
