I'm currently drinking 2-3 shakes a day made with unsweetened almond milk. Should I be drinking less, more, or is that about right?

Google TDEE calculator, enter your height, weight, activity level, etc. and that will give you your maintenance calories.

Once you have your maintenance calories consume about 500 calories per day above maintenance.

Protein powders are a supplement and should be used as such. Meaning if you are falling short of your caloric goals in your diet, supplementing protein shakes can be used to ensure you are hitting your goals. Hope this helps.

Btw you can use the my fitness pal app to keep track of your calories.

Exactly, I use it to supplement the rest of my diet. How many I take depends on how many I need to eat to reach my macros I still have left.

Op how many protein shakes you eat doesnt matter nor does it tell us how much protein you are I taking.

Let us know what your macros are overall consistently.

More than one shake a day is just lazy IMO, with rare exceptions.

And while macros are always important, please remember that macros don't equal nutrition, only macros.

Every gram of protein you decouple from the micronutrients in real food is to your detriment. 30g of protein from beef has significantly more to offer than a powder, which is probably also loaded with artificial sweeteners and a load of other crap.

One shake a day post workout, that's it.

Just my opinion.

I agree 100% but sometimes during a bulking phase for guys that are advanced the amount of food that has to be consumed to meet the macros gets to be too much and imo that's where more can come into play.

But overall I agree 100%. 30g of protein from beef is going to do more for growth than 30g from whey imo.

Maybe one per day. More like 5-6 per week. If I need to get up and work out but don't want a belly full of food, I use a protein shake. I usually have no issues meeting my protein goals anyway.

I'm drinking 1 (25g) on non-workout days and 2 (25g & 50g) on workout days, but I'm trying to gain strength while losing weight. I mix with water.

2 to 3 right now but I'm cutting. Your protein intake needs to be pretty high on a cut. Normally I would drink one after a workout and get the rest from regular food.

If you are gaining protein isn't as important. What does your intake look like?

I drink 1 a day post workout.

In regards to cutting, is drinking more protein shakes daily encouraged? I've never done an actual "cut" per say, but have been thinking about doing 1 in the coming weeks.

If you want to build mass, you need to also take in more carbs and fats. A whey protein shake is almost all protein. That burns in your body pretty fast. Do not rely strictly on protein, especially powders, to grow. You need more calories to grow, not more protein.

I am not doing shakes, just eating crazy amounts of chicken/eggs and two cups of yogurt. Seems to be working lol.

PS: If you smell a fart I swear it wasn't me

This right here is why I cut out protein shakes. I get all of my protein from food.
