Have you ever totaled the weight you moved during a workout?

I never have, but this new app I am using does it automatically. Today was a leg heavy day, so it totaled up to 34,000 pounds.

Never really thought of doing that, but found it kind of interesting.

Some of you big boys here are probably surpassing 50,000+.

Oh well, I can brag to the wife. I have already lifted 16 tons today

Yes, I used to log all my lifts on bodyspace app. It totals workouts and running total.

Biggest day ever (leg workout)- 100,000 lbs

Running Total when I stopped using it - 13,500,000 lbs

I weigh 180

Peter Sisco and John Little wrote a book called power factor training where they tried to capture data from lifting weights and make it qualitative. They posed a simple question. How at the end of lifting weights do you really know if you had a beneficial workout? Most of time it's a feel thing. i.e. I got a great pump...I had a great workout.

Part of the program is measuring the amount of weight lifted over time for each lift and for the entire workout. The thought was, if you start to see a down trend it means you're over training and need to rest.

The program also emphasizes strong range partials as gains come from maximizing the load on the muscles. They postulated if you want to increase your bench and using full range motion you're loading your muscle to the weakest part of the lift (the bottom) while you're capable of moving much more weight.

You cycle 3 weeks partials and 3 weeks full range if i recall correctly.

I did the program and got much stronger.

Yeah, my wife was WTF do I care.

My poundage is going up though. Doing 531 BBB now, so it will be interesting to see what it totals at the end of month 3.

Mine would be low as well. I go for intensity and frequency in the program I created. Mine is about 20000 for 4 exercises and 14 sets on some days and lower on others. However, those sets are upwards of 90% of 1rm every workout.
