I would think some krill oil soft gels would be the route you would want to go

This is actually the most honest answer given the money is no object comment. You'll absorb more when acquired from whole foods than supplements.

Just make sure it has it has at least 1000mg of EPA
1:1 ratio EPA to DHA best.
2-5g a day.
Amazon has fine options.
Concentrate more on ingredients and less on price.

A western diet is lacking due to the lack of cold water fish in the diet.

Thank you sir.

I suppose if I lived a more primitive natural life on the edge of the ocean and ate mackerel head soup everyday I wouldn't need supplements. But here I am, looking for supplements.

On a Health and Fitness board.

Trying to better myself.

And I get walnuts and salmon.

By the way, doesn't farm raised salmon have negative omega's?

I take two Viva Naturals fish oil pills a day to maximize epa and two Nordic Naturals proDHa 1000 per day. Shooting for 2g per day each of epa and dha. Seems high but I’m apoe3/4 and am doing everything I can to prevent Alzheimer’s. My omega 3 index is 9.6 up from 7 before adding these. I also shoot for salmon one night a week for dinner, a can of salmon for lunch once a week and when I’m really eating well a can of sardines a week.

Krill oil is better and more stable

But what are you actually trying to achieve, blood marker wise?

Ok, it’s one of the things you should take, but not what’s going to make the biggest difference. I’m going to sleep but will write you out a plan tomorrow

so trying to get your blood work in order i suggest the following

1) have a calcium score done
2) start lifting weights
3) clean up your diet. get rid of processed crap

for supplements

1) Nattokinase- take doctors best version. 2-4 caps in the morning, same at night. will reduce risk of stroke to almost zero, helps overall cholesterol numbers and hdl. read LINK

2) Citrus bergmont- 2-4 caps twice daily- will improve hdl

3) Vitamin super K- 2 caps morning, 1 night (read this

4) 4-6 oz pure pomegranate juice not from concentrate

5) Krill oil- 6-8 caps per day (read this)

6) super Curcumin- 3-4 caps per day LINK

if you have Bp issues at all....take carditone LINK

all of the above works amazing. plenty of guys here have used some combo of the above to get their blood work in order.

My BP is perfect now on NIP and ATE. I have had high blood pressure my whole life, long before I got old and fat. Even in peak health, I had high blood pressure - hereditary I suppose, my mother had it too and she was never fat.

Thanks for the other info, I will check it all out. Much appreciated.

Is the "Nature Made" fish oil considered garbage? I remember reading up on it years ago and there was controversy.

I just ordered the Viva Antarctic Krill Oil but just wondering how/why it was superior to the grocery store brand.

I'll also have you know that I'm stocked on Atkins microwave meals, romaine lettuce, rainbow carrots, and chicken. And unsalted almonds for crunchy cravings. I've only got about 20 pounds to lose so hopefully that journey won't be too long.
