I know most of the stuff is relatively easy to prepare, but just wanting one for more of a convenience factor.

Any recommended sites?

I haven't but there are some local companies around lake Charles, Baton Rouge and Nola that offer it. For me and my macros it would be crazy expensive and well...in a cheap bastard so I do it myself.

If you decide to do it yourself misc home on amazon has the containers.

My roommate in college did it. What he did was all about calories I guess so it was all portion size. Some of the food was stuff I try to avoid like spaghetti and pasta.

It seemed overpriced for what you got and it was about how much you are not what you ate. I would not recommend.

I'm using iconmeals.com. Bought two weeks worth of dinners for like $75. And they're really tasty too.

Like Hello Fresh/Blue Apron type? Or you mean like Sensible Portions/Clean Creations where they make the food and you just pick it up and eat it all week?

If the former, be very careful in choosing. I did Hello Fresh and most of the recipes were 600+ calories. I'm assuming since this is health/fitness you're looking for a healthy meal service. Definitely don't use the oil they call for, which will cut down a good bit. But some of those companies don't even factor in the oil when giving you the calorie count, so cutting the oil may still not be enough.

If the latter, Clean Creations is very nice. Expensive as hell, but nice. Sensible Portions is a joke. Don't use them.

$75 shipped? That's not too bad. I was using core meals in Hammond. They're good but just not enough food for what I need

For a female it's an excellent option

I've never used one because I like doing it myself and because once I did the math on it, I couldn't justify spending 5x more on something that was so simple to do myself.

Hmm, I haven't heard of Core Meals.

Sensible Portions is $80/week for 5 days of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.. but I despised it. They do all kinds of "bad" things like mac and cheese, chocolate chip waffles, red beans and rice, etc. That is what draws people in. But the portions are so laughably tiny that you're starving to death. I believe in eating what you want in moderation, but if that's you're entire diet, you're going to be hungry and unhealthy.

I certainly don't "eat clean" at all times, but man.

I've known a few dietitians that have taken a stab @ the whole meal service thing. From what I saw, there is no way to deliver adequate portions of good food for a reasonable price (on a small scale/out of your home). Then when a bigger company tries it, the bottom line becomes all that matters and the food quality/quantity goes to shite.

Of the top of my head, 7 dinners of 6oz chicken breast & veggies would only run about $30-$40 to do myself. Seems like youd pay double that for 3-4oz from most services

Yeah my mom has done sensible portions before

Core meals is week to week, and has the carbs/fat/protein listed on each meal. They also use a local farm in tangipahoa parish for most of their veggies

You can also pick and choose from a list of meals, unlike sensible portions
