I played yesterday and conditions are solid. Greens are firm and fast as always. Not lightening fast but rolling true. Course was firm as well. Always a tough course to play.

Yep, course is in great shape. Nightmare triple tier greens on half the holes but definitely a fun course.

How hard is it to get tee times at the UClub on the weekend?

Slightly easier than Augusta

Ha. No doubt Tiger Tees at U Club more than likely play tougher than the Masters Tees at Augusta. Tiger Tees are 7,700 yards. 77.9/142.

You going to WD if conditions are bad? Or are you going to alter the scramble gameplan if it’s playing tough?

I laughed way too hard at this, maybe because I was thinking the exact same thing.

That is just stupid. The golf team doesn't even play from back there.

For members I have heard both sides. Some say it's impossible others have no issues
I have no issues

For non members - impossible

I'm asking about tee times because I’m considering a national membership. I live out of state and want a nice course when I visit Baton Rouge. I haven’t played there since they renovated the course, but I have heard good things. However, I don’t want to join a club with limited tee times, particularly since I’m only making a few trips.

Call or reach out to other clubs unless you have a house within the property you stay in while in town

How often do you come to town? Can usually do a reciprocal a few times a year.

I'm a member at UC.

If you want to play on the weekends before 11:30, you will need to call a week ahead to make the tee time. You shouldn't have any issues if you plan in advance. They can normally squeeze you in the afternoons.

UC course conditions are always good. IMO with the amount of members the conditions should be great. I always feel there is not enough grass on the fairways / greens. Also, the course gets ALOT of play, so the common hitting areas (driving range, tee boxes, landing areas) are full of divots.

Thanks for the information. I'll contact the club next time I head to Baton Rouge.
I probably make three or four trips a year to Baton Rouge. The national membership is reasonably inexpensive.

Encourage the members and guests to sand their divots and lead by example.
Speak to the super or pro about your concerns on fairway grass height. The amount of play it gets, I would think they would keep the grass pretty high especially with their irrigation system and soil type.
