Looking for some recommendations on the best places for a golf trip with the fellas this year. I know I could look up the top places in the U.S., but I was hoping to get some insight on some places most have never heard or some sneaky nice resorts.

I'd throw Chattanooga into the mix. We did my bachelor trip there and had a blast. Lot's of cool breweries and restaurants downtown, among tons of other outdoorsy stuff to do. There a a few decent local options and Sweetens cove, which I highly recommend, is under an hour away. Plus I have been itching to try out The McLemore in Rising Fawn (I think they have good stay and play deals now, that may be the way to go). It may not be the best as "pure golf" goes, it's no Bandon or anything like that, but you will have a good time.

Augusta National.

They do walk-in 4somes in October.

Just go down Washington Road and hang a right down Magnolia Lane.

Stay in the Crows Nest or in one of the cabins.

Enjoy libations on the course and maybe take a dip in the pond at 12

Enjoyed the trip to Mossy Oak and Old Waverly in West Point, MS. The onsite cabins at Mossy Oak are great for a guys trip.

Depending where you’re located, an easy location would be Birmingham, AL. Lots of good affordable golf, good restaurants/breweries

I've done Kiawah and we're doing Sea Pines/Hilton Head this year. Will let you know in a few weeks how HH was.

Just got back from Hilton Head over Mardi Gras. Not cheap but great gold. Played the 3 Sea Pines courses which are great. Many, many other options for golf in the area. Don’t think there is much of a night life but didn’t try for that so may be wrong.

You could come to NY. Play the courses as Turning Stone, go to Cooperstown and play Leatherstocking, hit up a couple more RTJ courses.

If you are not looking for traditional nightlife partying look into the cabins at Pursell Farms, great golf course, can have dinner catered to your cabin or they give you a cart to drive to the clubhouse and have clay shooting also

We are trying to schedule a hold trip to Michigan sometime in the next few years. Tons of good golf courses, good beer cities, and great value. No Laying Up did a series about their golf trip to Michigan. Worth looking into IMO.

Budget? The Monterey area is hard to beat.

A summer golf trip to the Vail-Breckenridge area would be cool.

We just did a stay and play at Purcell farms and the course is in rough shape right now, major bunker renovations all over the place. Had one hole completely closed on one of the days and still charged full price.

Just do it right and go to Pinehurst. Okay Tobacco Road, #8, #4, # 2, cradle and the mid pines southern pines or one of those.

Seriously want to do a Stranz trip and play all of his public courses. Loved Tobacco Road and Royal New Kent. Wish they had more like his style.
