Not true. I play one up from the tips almost everytime I play. More often than not I am hitting a PW through LW, and I only have 1 hole in one and that was with a 9i when I was 13.

The frick kinda of short arse courses are you playing.

My distances go something like this:

driver with roll-out.........315-325 yards

Everything else is carry (I typically only get about 2-3 yards of roll from my 5w down)

3w.........275

5w.........255

4i..........215

5i..........205

6i..........195

7i..........185

8i..........175

9i..........165

PW........150

GW........135 (52°)

SW........120 (56°)

LW........100 (60°)

ETA: I upvoted you. I tend to play from one up or middle tees because of the people I play with. When I play alone or with just my friend that hits the same lengths as me I will play the tips. But my normal playing partners (dad and uncles) play from up a little and I do too so as to speed up the play alittle.

ETA2: let the downvotes begin. I realize that when someone posts their yardages (especially when they hit further than average), they tend to get downvoted into oblivion. I have had a lot of people tell me I am lying or not believe me, but they tend to agree once we have played together. They also tend to rag me on other aspects of my game, like putting, chipping, hitting the ball left, sending balls into lakes / woods, hitting the ball right, hitting fat, blading shots, hitting that tree over there or that one over there,... I hit the ball far but there is no telling where it is going with consistency.

Most of the par 3's at my club are >150 from one back of the tips.

eta: and this is where i get to brag my hole in one was 192 yards

Those yardages aren't crazy, especially with modern clubs. I'm guessing your driver swing speed is somewhere around 125mph?

His yardages are close to mine up until the 6 and way longer with the woods. I have a tougher time with release and lag on those longer clubs.

Yeah my average is around 123-126, if I try to break the club on my downswing I will touch 128 but I will get bad contact and probably hurt myself.

I hit some new clubs the other week and wow did they fly. My irons are 16 years old and are a little under shafted for me. My clubs balloon a litttls and spin like crazy. Great for holding a green but not good for penetrating through wind. The newer clubs actually had the same carry distance or a few yards farther but man did they rollout. I was nervous about having to re-learn my game and being a little broke at the moment so I'm sticking with my old sticks for now.

Was that real or just the juiced up monitor?

The clubs I was hitting were very close to my lofts so I assumed the monitor was a little juiced. I brought in my 7i and balls to test side by side. To my surprise it may have been juiced by a yard or two but they were a good bit longer.

So this cat can essentially call his shot with a wedge in hand, and shoots in the low 90s... he must not putt worth a shite.

As for the question... you are a douche for even asking it. YES it counts.

It counts.

Our course from white tee is 150 to 175 for par 3s.

It is a full swing shot for everybody, but the very powerful players.

Sorry....maybe I'm just bitter because I've never holed out a par 3 and that old hacker was working on his 12th and talked about how awesome he was for 18 holes.

Yeah you and that guy both sound like people that should just play together and leave the rest of the world alone.

If he really has 12 make him show you all 12 certificates. I doubt he can produce them. My dad got one at Oak Harbor, and they gave him a certificate.

You do know most golf courses don't do that right?

I was given a plaque for mine. Most nicer courses will give you something.
