Playing in a scramble today and wanted to get some opinions.

Anybody try to use a distance rock off the tee to drive with instead of their normal gamer, and then switch for the rest of the hole.

That ain't cheating in a scramble, but I know lots of people that do that shite for every round.

Any other scramble tactics you guys like? Normally hit shots in order of worst to best player?

I am a fast pace player so I go first.

I am a good putter so I go third.

Only way I know how to do well in a scramble is to cheat. Esp if it's a church or charity type one.

I'm too honest so never do well in these events.

I'd give all the 1st place prizes to the 7th place team. Make that known up front. How ya going to pencil whip that scorecard to come in 7th???

I won first place last year and won a round of golf so it's not worth cheating for.

The door prizes are usually better, which is probably the best way to do it.

I like the “Mr. Honest” prize for lastplace. Always seemed fun to me.

Knowing up front the improbability of winning scrambles without cheating, I always just focus on the side games like long drive, closest to the pin, straightest drive, find the sluttiest cart girl,...

Best way to win is to find a company to sponsor your team.

Buy a couple mulligans.

I feel like everyone should hit in the same order every time. One of the reasons why (I feel) good teams don't win is because of a lack of rhythm. Going in the same order every shot lets the team get into a rhythm.

This. Low spin = distance.

I like shortest - longest driver order on the tee box and highest handi to lowest handi on irons and putts. Bitches know they can cheat though. Last scramble I played the greens were rolling about 5-6 on the Stimp meter if I had to guess. Really long greens that they were trying to grow in before cutting them. Winning team turns in -16. You have to be throwing serious darts all day long to near gimme range to have makable putts to sink that many birdies. I call bullshite.

Played charity scramble at TPC on Tuesday. They had a world longest drive tour guy raising money and hitting drives for teams on Par 5 11th.

Ball he hit for our team went 383 right down middle in about 15 mph side wind. It was pretty cool to see in person.

Cooked then played in Bobby Hebert's Cystic Fibrosis tournament a couple years back and they had an LDA guy there...I think on hole 6. He went 411yds down the middle. We had 90yds out on a par 5

We only birdied it. Too many white cans....

This is him

How true it this post. Last scramble I played in, we made our own team, so ineligible to win. 4 younger guys late 20s early 30s, all of us capable of contributing.

We weren't within 10 strokes of the winner. There is no way they could have beaten u head to head, yet somehow they birdied every hole
