I’m a 10.
Senior.

Is 639 CB the best guess at what I need?

Any issues with company?

None. Sub70 has the best costumer service I’ve ever experienced.

Based on some of your past posts, you generally are looking for more distance and launch. I would look at 699 pro, 699, or maybe even the new 749. I have the 699 pros. Tons of launch and distance. Comparable to a P790.

The CBs are the most forgiving forged iron they make. 639 is the outgoing model. 659 is the newest model. There was a decent enough upgrade in performance and looks that I would be looking at 659s. Not that the 639s are bad in anyway.

I have a 4-PW set of the 639MB. I am a 3 index. Sub 70 has great customer service. My PW shaft snapped at the ferrule at 11 months. I contacted customer service sent a new club once I sent pictures. Very satisfied with the company and service department.

I would assume the 639CB are more forgiving than the 639MB. With that said, the 4-6 of the MB set are very thin and are not forgiving when mishit.

Overall, I am very happy with my set and recommend anyone try this brand when looking for new clubs. I would recommend demoing the model you intend to purchase before purchasing.

A guy I was playing with once had some and I was actually looking for a new set at the time. I hit them a couple times and they felt great.

After doing a lot of youtube research reviews and internet searching, I ended up going with a set of Takomos though. Got the 101Ts. I love them. Might be worth looking at as well.

Good Luck!!!

Takomos

I had looked at Takomo as well based on internet reviews. They’re supposed to be great. They just didn’t have as much customization as Sub70. I imagine they’ll add more in the future

I really need to demo the 749's to see if there is a big difference from my 739's. Like been said before, the customer service is the best.

I called them. They walked me through it. Seems to want me in 699 or 699 pro.

I think I’ll buy 5-PW. Just trying to decide if 699 pro is right for me.

I’ve got the 699 pros. Love them, I got them over the 699 because they have less offset

I play the 659tcs and I love them. They are a little less forgiving than the CB though. If I miss hit one it noticeably comes up short on distance. Feel is great on the clubs and they look great.

Sub70 was able to match my fitting specifications exactly.

If you are looking at the Sub 70 699 irons, you should look at the PXG 0211 irons as well.

I know several guys that have the 0211 irons and they rave about the looks and how it performs.

699 irons 6-GW with MMT Shafts are 950.00 (price includes a 240.00 shaft upcharge)

O211 irons with MMT Shafts 6-GW are 599.00 ( no upcharge for shafts)

Example- individual MMT Shafts at GolfWorks are 65.00 a shaft.

In my bag currently, but with 95 gram steel shafts.

I’m admitting that age/arthritis has slowed my speed down to where I want to try senior flex.

PXG does offer the MMT 60 in a A flex .

The MNT is a very smooth shaft, I love it.

If you are interested in getting the 699 version 1. You can get a whole set for $540 before any shaft upgrade.

I have the version 1 699s and love them. I also have 2 699 v1 utility clubs which are very versatile

NVM saw above.

ETA: I had the 639s and I just traded them with a guy on the Sub-70 forum for a set of the v1 699s.

I've been shopping them, but each time I do, I switch from one to the other. Can't pull the trigger. Wish I could see them in person.

I pulled the trigger. Chappy posted me into them. I blame him IF I don’t get to scratch in 2 weeks from 10.

699 pros senior shafts.

Bopper,

I’m keeping my PXGs, but I may change out the 95gm steel for graphite shafts.

I just wanted to give Sub70 a try for fun.

So my bag is:
Driver, 3 (15.5 degrees)wood: Cobra LTDx
5wood, 7 wood: TM M2 21 and 24 degrees
6-P: Sub70 699 pro
49,53,57 wedges: Edison
Putter: Tour Edge

Need to figure out the last club.
Maybe a hybrid/fairway wood?
Alien wedge?
Square strike?
Club to hit off rocks?
GXG7 driver?
Xe747 punchout club?

Not sure what your distance are and if you have a gap that might need filled, but me personally I think I'll always have a hybrid in the bag. I have 2 right now and they are my go to when I need I need to blast a ball out of the rough. It's just so easy. I find that fairways and hybrids are both great off the fairway or tee, but hybrids really shine for me out of the rough.
