It seems weekly that there is a thread asking for recommendations for a fitting in some region of south Louisiana. It seems, Jim Leitz is never and/or seldom mentioned. Since he is a Golf Digest top 100 fitter, i was just wonder why he gets so few recommendations?

Leitz is an extremely good/experienced fitter/teacher that has been doing it for a very long time. If you want a true professional fitting experience with someone that has seen it all, can’t go wrong with him

Leitz has so much knowledge about the golf swing/fitting/trackman that if he started talking golf with 95% of this board they would think he was speaking Japanese, that’s probably why he doesn’t get mentioned, and he’s not the cheapest

Funny you mention him....I asked my club pro yesterday who the best fitter in the State was and he dropped Leitz's name on me. I booked a fitting for next week

I recommend him nearly every time someone asks about fitters . He's the only guy in the country who is Top 100 Fitter and Top 100 Instructor. And he's relatively inexpensive and right there at Tchefuncte. Why would you NOT wanna use him?

Ian Fraser from TXG/Club Champion recommended him as the best fitter on the entire Gulf Coast.

I went to him for a fitting. He put me in stock everything Taylor made which is what he sells and is sponsored by

He really didn’t fit me at all. I never swung different clubs at all. Just one Taylor made club. No other brands, no shafts, etc etc

He is a brilliant golf mind but the fitting was worthless. I hold no ill will, as this is where I send my son now for lessons. But just want to inform people how my “fitting” went

That's interesting. He put me in a Ping G30 (back when it was new) with a stock XS shaft. Granted, I hit it great and still do but if anyone has ever had a knock on him it was that...that he only puts you into stock shafts because that's all 99% of golfers ever need.
