It’s hot. It’s f’ing so wet.
If I do get a good drive which is super rare suddenly, I scoop up a big piece of mud at Webb.
It seems like one never improves.

So dumb.
So many fun hobbies out there

What the hell happened to Webb's green? LSU might be better.

I’ve often considered selling everything and buying another boat. Then, I chip in a birdie or some stupid shite.

Everyone’s best golf is only a small fraction of all of their golf.

It visits. It rarely stays for long.

Bad golf can show up at anytime. It can slide into a great round at an unexpected moment.

The key for me is low expectations.

I’m usually in that mode: mostly below average with some fun moments. Been in a bit of a funk this month.
Definitely teeing up this coming weekend and all additional weekends.

Webb just aerated their greens and sanded them. Hopefully will be solid in a few weeks?

In theory. More like three full weeks before they’re ‘normal’. Even longer before the holes are completely gone.

Our course aerified August 1. Basically ruins all of August but honestly it’s not the best month for golf anyways.

Now we get September-November with primo greens and it’s fantastic.

I was told by a caddie once, that to enjoy golf you must “embrace the struggle”.
Far as I can see, that’s true.

Played there Saturday. Greens are in nice shape. Rough is thick, and you have to do some searching to find your ball off the fairway, but none in our group lost a ball that way. Carts were 90°. I wish it was closer, but it wasn't much further from me than going to Beaver Creek.

I chipped in for birdie on #11 par 5 at OCC yesterday, pretty much the only highlight of my round

For the life of me I cannot hit an iron right now. My iron play just completely disappeared over the last month or 2. I stand over a shot and find myself just hoping it gets off the ground. My driver, greenside/short game, and putting is the best it's ever been right now.

How bad is it? I shot an 88 yesterday with 29 putts. I hit 10/14 fairways... and 1/18 GIR.

But of course I'm going to keep coming back because there's always a chance that the next round I might "figure it all out"

This fricking game

I just sold the lake house and the boat.

Don't want either ever again.

I have this happen every once in a while. Then a few weeks later I start hitting good irons and my driver goes to shite

golf is a fickle game and frustrating but when you have that round where it all seems to click nothing is more fun imo

I feel your pain. They’re having to truck worms into Purcell Farms to replace the ones I burned to death Friday. Bladed 7 iron shots, which I probably haven’t had that many in a 6 month stretch, much less a day.

Squandered a day I missed one fairway

I don't know what's going on with me. 5,6,7,& 8 irons only going 150 yards, yes all 4 going the same distance with different flight patterns. Driver can't make it to 200. I am having therapy on my shoulder because of tendonitis but the only time it does not hurt is when I swing. If you see someone cusing out loud at Santa Maria around 4:30pm, that's me.
