Heading to Toledo Bend in a couple of weekends. Plan on playing Cypress Bend. Anyone play recently? What I’m reading from recent reviews is that it’s a great layout on the water but the greens aren’t the best.

Might also play Tamahka Trails on the way up or back down… heading up from BR.

Appreciate the input!

It's been a while since I played up there. It's a cool layout with beautiful scenery in pretty poor condition. Focus on the positives and it will be an enjoyable round. At least that's how I remember it. Conditions aren't great but it's a cool place and we had fun.

Last time I played it, I almost walked off. The greens were terrible.

Not sure about now, but last month it was perfect.

Haven't played it in a few years but I would pass on Cypress. Play Tamaka on the way up and Links on the Bayou on the way back. Thank me later. Toledo is down 4' by the way.

If you like teeing off with a 7 iron. It needs a windmill and a clown's mouth.

Cypress Bend is awful.

Play somewhere else.

Drive to Rayburn Country. Cypress Bend is quite literally the worst place I’ve ever played

Played it 2 weeks ago. Great views along the lake and a good amount of elevation for a Louisiana course. I thought it was fun, but the greens and bunkers werent in great condition. My only real complaint was all the blind par 5 tee shots. Felt kind of unnecessarily gimmicky. Still a fun course though. I would play again

It’s been years, but you better love uneven lies! Seemed like every hold was slanted one way or the other. Have fun!

Played this morning for $70. I understand the weekend price but ehhhhhhh

I was expecting it to be in a lot worse shape with everyone’s comments. Greens weren’t spectacular but good enough, bunkers were hit and miss, fairways were in good enough shape. Layout is super nice. Pretty hard course since nothing is straight, woods/rough will eat your balls with ease, and a good bit of water.

I’d recommend playing since it is just so different, hilly, and on a large body of water. Most of the back 9 was on Toldeo. Condition wise I’d say it’s in between Webb and Santa/Beaver, so it’s not a course to avoid. Just don’t be expecting a pristine course.

Playing Tamahka on the way back tomorrow.

How did you feel about that par 5 where you just run an 8 iron down the hill and then have a 3 wood to the green? Goofy arse hole.

Or the other one where it’s like a 6 iron off the tee and then a 3 wood over water or a pitching wedge to lay up and then a 7 iron into the green. Goofier arse hole.

It’s been a while since I’ve been there. My memory may be hazy. But there are at least a few goofy par 5s out there. When it was in good shape it was a fun course though

Definitely had some goofy dog legs lol, they had flags for where you had to aim for those dog legs if you never played there. People in front of us thought that was the green.

It’s probably smart to look at the course layout and kind of strategize before you play, which I didn’t, which led to lost balls.

I have tried everything I know to get around the corner off the tee. Have never accomplished it.

I can't figure out which one that is. If 9, I hit 3 wood off the tee, then lay up over the water.
