Just watch the Kis video. It’ll be the best 9 minutes for your golf game.

I do a lot of chipping with a 9 iron as long as I don't have to fly over something.
A couple of months ago a Pro friend told me to open the face a tad and I've had no more fat or blade shots since.
I was skeptical, but I have been much more accurate and better at distance control.

I tried Mickelson's instructions. Problem is he's Phil and has hours upon hours to practice and I'm a hack who gets a couple hours a week. Hands forward takes bounce off the club and puts that leading edge in play. Chunk, chunk. That's what happens to me.
Started working on the Bounce Method. Bounce is your friend. Much more success with weight forward but hands more neutral as well.
The absolute cardinal rule is you have to accelerate your hands through. Back swing is key with this. Load it up too much and your hands will decelerate.
Still working on it and figuring things out that work for me.

1. Putt if you can, even from well off the green if it’s mowed fairly short.
2. Chip with a putting setup with ball off back ankle.
3. On pitches, Set up with ball between your heels and keep club head in front of hands(don’t whip it inside)

Another thing I found helped me whine using the use the bounce method was having a high bounce wedge and a low bounce wedge. My 54 has 8 degrees of bounce and my 58 has 12.
On grass and fluffy lies I use the 58 and can land it soft. When I get a really tight lie or a dirt lie, which I’ve been having a few, I use the low bounce 54 and pick it with the UTB method. Once I stared to understand bounce and the type of lie, I’m having way less fat and skulls which kill my round

Another thought, when chipping into the wind:
HIT the top of the flag stick! That's the thought. I would bet most amateurs will never get it there. Most amateurs come up woefully short.

Hinge and hold (Mickelson)
Always weight on front foot so you don't chunk it.
Use chest not arms - your arms are basically along for the ride, sort of like putting in terms of your arms not doing a whole lot.

There are 2 guys that did a few shows on golf channel called Me and My Golf. They have a youtube channel. I liked them, they made it easy to understand. Check them out.

Around the green this is my money shot. All you gotta do is take a wedge of some sort. Open your stance a little and use a putter stroke. Straight back straight through. If you get this technique down it's money around the greens.

Can’t decide whether I should carry the Xe747 punch out club with camel toe technology.
Anybody chipping with it?

Lightly squeeze your elbows to your sides during the chipping stroke.

Me and My Golf Chipping
They have some good videos. Also, if you have plenty of green use a 7 or 8 iron with a putting type stroke and get the ball rolling.

I worked on the Hinge & Hold this spring and it just wasn't working for me. Move those hands forward and it exposes that leading edge which lead to a lot of digging and duffing.
That video is exactly what was happening to me. Just not consistent enough with striking the ball. Started working on a similar method in that video with using the bounce and that margin of error when striking the ground inches in front of the ball.
Mr. Short Game is one of my favorites. Like his videos.

Phil’s technique is horrible for the high handicapper. Kisner’s is much better for the weekend golfer.

The "chip/putt" technique starting around 32 or 33 minutes in David Leadbetter's "The Short Game" video helped me tremendously.
It's great for chips and pitches up to 5 yards off the green and you can use multiple clubs using the same technique depending on if you've got to pop the ball up a bit or get it on the ground quickly.
The only thing I don't do that he does in the video is I keep my elbows closer to my rib cage and not pointing outward.

This video is gold!! Lots of great techniques and tips. Things I used to know but forgot after 12 years of not playing.

I basically cured a 2 year chipping yip watching the kis barstool chipping video. Slowly building back into having more shots and options, but I have dropped 2 strokes on my cap literally just from that video

Greg Norman secret.
Not kidding.
Best training aid ever for chipping.
