i hate this bullshite.
i would be pissed if there was an XBONE.5 and i had to drop $300 to keep up with the technology and my friends.

I'm thinking of keeping my order, and if PS4.5 is really unavoidable...I'll have a nice $350 media box that can play PS4 games to put in another room. Kinda bummed me out when I saw that headline this morning though, always sucks to knowingly buy obsolete.

This 100%. I was hoping somehow Sony would just create some sort of hardware that converts to 4K (which is already made), but they'll steal our money.

Not a chance this ps4.5 plays triple A games in 4K, but maybe this means all games will be at least 1080p.

This will be like the New 3DS. Games will release and play like dog shite on a classic PS4. Meanwhile, they still can't run games at native 4K.
4K is such a white whale at this point. Few people have 4K TVs and those screaming at Microsoft and Sony over 4K native resolution are really underestimating the horse power required to run current gen games in 4k.

they should make consoles modular where you buy a "brick upgrade" to upgrade the GPU and processor or the HD.

fricking hell, the entire reason I prefer consoles over PC gaming is b/c I don't have to incrementally upgrade to continue to play games on the system. Did they learn nothing from what happened to SEGA when they tried to do that w/the SEGA CD and 32X? If they go the cell phone route I'm out.
