Witcher 3: Blood and Wine details - over 90 quests and 30 hours of gameplay

The actual article got taken down, but someone on r/Games copy and pasted the whole thing:
quote:
Players will find themselves in the peaceful land of Toussaint, where you'll be in pursuit of a beast with a secret that's tormenting the kingdom. The expansion contains more than 30 hours of new gameplay, and the new region rivals Velen and Novigrad in size, according to a press release from CD Projekt Red. Blood and Wine is described as "a 20-hour tale" on its Steam page.
Blood and Wine includes over 90 new quests and 40 new points of interest. It also introduces a dynamic system, where interacting with an area's main POI affects adjacent points -- for example, killing enemies in their main hideout lowers their numbers in surrounding camps. Additionally, there will be 14,000 new lines of dialogue, which is 8,000 more than the previous expansion.
New gear and monsters include over 30 new weapons, 100 individual pieces of armor, and more than 20 new monsters. No specifics were announced.
12 new mutations were detailed, however, and players will be able to unlock them in New Game Plus. The mutations include one that causes enemies to freeze and die instantly when knocked by Aard, one that makes enemies to explode when they're killed with a sign's critical hit, and another that heals and grants you damage immunity when you lose all of your health.
Other additions include the New Game Plus maximum level increasing to 100, a new "Skellige" Gwent deck, and a redesigned user interface. Players will also be able to change the color of their gear with armor dyes that can be obtained through merchants, recipes or loot. However, these can only be acquired in Toussaint.

Frick yes.
I remember reading it was going to be bigger than the Witcher 2, so this is just what I expected.
The first DLC was great. I haven't played the game at all other than when I played the DLC for a day, but this will get me back into it for sure.

I'm kinda scared to start this game because I know it will end up being a 6 month commitment.

I started for the first time about a month ago now.
Wow is all I can say. I remember reading in FO4 threads people claiming Witcher was better and I was like "yeah sure it is" but after putting in pretty good time in Fallout after getting into Witcher I can't even fathom switching back over to Fallout. Witcher is by far the best game I have ever played.

For some reason I thought you'd already started and lost interest.

shite I still haven't finished the main story yet.

Fallout is a piece of shite compared to the Witcher.
I probably could have finished Fallout if it came out before the Witcher, but nope. Every game I play with that style will be compared to the Witcher from now on.

I'm about 65 hours in and am just on the novigrad main story line (trying to find dandelion). So much to do in this game , just so incredible. it started off slow but once I cleared all the undiscovered locations in velen and continued with the 3 crones story line I was hooked. Hopefully I'll be able to finish everything before final fantasy comes out

I need to finish up the first part and then the 1st expansion, having to start from scratch after almost 100% the world sucked arse, but I need to push through so I can play the expansions.

I guess I should buy this game. Too much good being said about it.
Never played a Witcher game however

You'll be fine. I never played either 1 or 2 and wasn't really lost at all. You'll have more appreciation for the lore of the world or whatever if you play the others but otherwise they're not essential.
