I use my sling box almost all day when I'm home. Its posted up at my sisters place on one of her unused cable boxes

i wonder if i can plug the Roku into my xbox one and use the PlayThru functionality. If a damn PS4 is able to, surely a Roku is.

Why not just stream right from your PC to the Xbox one with the old "play to" option? You don't need any extra hardware.

I use it for streaming like diz. I'm sure you can google the supported apps but as for streaming its awesome. I can pull netflix or plex up on my phone and control everything from my phone as well. No need for the CPU to even be in the same room. Pandora one is also supported on the chrome cast.
Roku may do all of this but I'm not sure I just temper my chrome cast being cheaper than the roku.
Plex also works on the xbox one. You just have to pull up the appsite in the internet explorer app

how do you get Plex to work with the XBone tho ? I have Plex media server but how do I stream from Plex to theBone?

No I don't. But I sure as hell will try if that's a possibility. I didnt' know slingbox made an app for windows 8, but i did just get a brand new laptop with W8. I'll give it a shot.

yeah, i think i'm doing something wrong.
i log in to that link. it pulls up my account but shows I don't have a media server. shows nothing in my queue. and i've got plex media manager running on my computer.
