Bogimoray, the electric worm creature in Lost Odyssey.
He spawned smaller enemies and it all depended on luck. He had an attack that could take you out if he used it twice.
On top of that, you had to fight two back to back.

I'm pretty sure the dynasty warriors games were always the same story and had the same characters with some additions each game. I know for a fact he was in 3 and 4

The only one that comes to mind is pretty recent. Those hippo cyclops things in dark souls 2 were a nightmare as a pure melee character

I concur. I'm trying to work my way around a couple now.
Really wanting to get Bound by Flame, but I'd like to finish DS2 before getting in to another heavy RPG. Ya know...since I already have like 5-6 that I either haven't started or made little progress on. I need to just admit that I have a ton of games I'll never play/finish
