Just picked up a pair of sennheiser Game Zero's for 169.99.

Very well made and can hardly tell i'm wearing anything. THE frickING MIC MUTES AUTOMATICALLY WHEN YOU FLIP IT UP!!!!

Owned numerous pairs of turtle beach. TOp of the line to bottom it seems the connectors tend to start clicking.

Like Shirley said, the Sennheiser's (I believe I have the Game One pair) are the best I've had and I've used it all.

I do have to plug it in through a mixamp, but they are insane. Depending on what I'm doing I can lower/raise the game volume or the party chat volume so you can pump in whatever you want.

I got mine last year on Black friday off of Amazon for more than $100 off their normal price.

Another vote for Sennheisers, it's as close as you will get to being motorboated by two women in the ears with gaming headsets.

Damn it does not appear that I can go completely wireless without spending $300. Son of a B.

Use AKG K7XX with an optical SMSL amp/dac. I could never go back.

Used to use Sennheiser 598's but they have been resting on the shelf ever since I got the K7XX.

Anyone ever use Turtle Beach 500P's? Have a $25 off sale going on now, so would be basically $100. I just want a wireless headset finally. So tired of the dam cords getting in the way. I have a pair of turtle beaches now and have never had any issues with them, minus having to have it plugged into the controller and having to carry that around all over the house.

Care to part with your 598s? I too need to make the move to a good headset. I had a cheap set of gamecoms which were fine for $50, but they broke when I moved. Been using the abysmal sound on the built in speakers of my Asus monitor. Needless to say my csgo has suffered. There's just so many choices in headphones and amps. Blue, you used to have some Beyer dynamics right? Do you still use them? What's the difference between a $150 set and a $400 set for an average user? I don't have FLAC files or sit at my computer to listen to music. I don't think I can justify spending more than $250 on a set of cans and a amp/DAC. Anyone have a Fiio e10?

For sure, I also have a spare cable that's better for portable use with a standard jack.

Alright sound quality but a horrible build. The plastic on the band will crack, happens to them all.

I've had my eyes on some Hyper X Cloud 2 headphones for a while. Seems like it could fit what you're looking for, but I really don't know how good they are. I need something to replace my logitech g930's but just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I use those in the Gunmetal color. Wife has a set in the white/pink. I use them on my PC for flight sims/space sims/MMOs...and swap them over to my PS4 for Destiny. I like the performance. I'm no audiophile, but I can't complain.

Gonna just say it again, especially with Black Friday essentially here, Sennheiser is the GOAT.

Which Sennheisers have microphones?
I was just looking and I might have been looking at the wrong ones.

NVM...just found a set of HMD280-XQs that have a mic.

The Cloud II isn't great for audiophiles, but they are amazingly durable and comfortable for a reasonable price.

They have a few gaming headsets and they are miles better than anything else I've ever used.

From my experiences, I think the TB elites are the best overall package. It's great having Bluetooth and noice cancellation. But, if you just judge the gaming aspect, I think the Astro A50s are superior. The A50s are definitely more comfortable, and the surround sound is superior.
