I always wait for the first SP before switching to a new Windows OS. It will be nice if that's not necessary this time but I've been burned too many times by installing a new OS as soon as it hits (I'm looking at you, Vista... and XP... and ME... and 98).
Everything I've read indicates that Windows 10 is ready enough to be a daily driver, but as you said, I've done enough OS installs to take some precautions. In this case, I'll just clone to a spare HDD. If this were just a gaming/entertainment PC, I'd be less cautious. But my PC is an everything (gaming, entertainment, work, home server) PC.

Meh. Vista and ME were terrible after the SP - never recovered for me.
Conversely, 98 and XP were money with me, period - albeit, I agree that 98 SP1 was a big improvement.

I have a gtx 660.
Just saw a youtube of a guy running an API test.
I have a huge boner now.
DX12 is going to be the biggest single generation performance difference in Windows history.

Ad always, how long does it take for developers to adopt it?

Yep, that's why I don't get too excited about APIs, major leaps forward in graphics engines, new effect techniques, etc. Video games themselves are the bottleneck.

Technology moves fast but implementation does not
