The first Mass Effect is an RPG with shooter elements. ME2 and 3 would be more what the OP is looking for.
I've never played it, but it seems like you kill a lot of aliens in Destiny.

Shooting is the best part of Destiny. Aliens just happen to be in the way.

It's a mediocre game but I don't quite feel it deserves all the hate it gets, at least not in its current state. I think I paid $2.00 for it on Steam sale one year.

I was kind of referring to the entire trilogy, but yes, there's more shooting in 2 and 3. I'd still suggest the OP play 1 as well, just for the continuity and it's a great game. But frick the elevators.
