What am I missing with The Show?

Picked up a PS3 this weekend with the $100 off at Gamestop coupon. Mainly used it for Netflix in the bedroom and a chance at a few Sony exclusives like The Show, Gran Turismo, etc. Went ahead and got The Show at same time since I heard it was the be all end all. I have been enjoying MLB 2k11 on 360 so was psyched to see The Show.
Will be honest the graphics and presentation blow MLB away, but the gameply goes to MLB for me so far. I started with basic controls and slowly started working in the analog controls. Maybe its because its a good bit different but so far kind of seems a little boring to me once the eyecandy wears off. Have only played a few games so may it gets better.
I have only played a rivalry game, exhibition game, homerun derby. Is RTTS that much better?

RTTS Is addictive for sure
But if you are convinced that the 2K franchise has the better gameplay, then there Is really no helping your retarded arse.
Sorry brother.

I think the problem is that you aren't into sim type baseball. It's not an arcade game. It can be boring at times. It's what it's supposed to be
Nothing wrong with you if you don't like it, just means it's not for you

What Eric said, I'm just picking on you
I get so frustrated sometimes that I want to throw my controller through my tv.
But I relax and settle down because those frustrating moments in my franchise are what make my successful moments really worth playing it. And having a bit of adversity In a game is what I look for.
A true sim

Thanks, like I said maybe its just somethin to get used too. I exclusively play MyPlayer on MLB so maybe just have to give it a longer shot, I guess.
I like the sim type, I just wanted to be able to see my skills improve as well. Like in MyPlayer you can improve reactions on pitching, batting, etc. Just wasnt what I expected but I am sure it will grow on me.

The game is maddeningly tough for me this year. I only won one game out of like ten so far. But I love it so much.

So...have you played Road to the Show yet? It's the greatest career mode in any sports game, ever.

I recently bought a PS3 (the week PSN went down). The only game I bought was The Show...the rest I'm getting through GameFly.
RTTS is awesome. I love how you can customize your experience exactly how you want. I handle all of the fielding and batting for my guy. The computer handles baserunning and plays I'm not involved in.
I can get through most games in 5 minutes or so. Makes it too easy to say, "okay, just one more game" before it's 3 hours past my bedtime!
Started off in AA with Detroit before getting traded to the Giants mid-way through the season. Finished the first season last night with a league leading .347 BA along with 11 HRs, 91 RBIs and about 50 runs scored (also led the league with 6 triples). Got bumped up to AAA to start my next season. Through 3 games I'm 3-16 with two triples (just got lucky and drove two deep in the gap).
Very fun! I can get hot and have a few 3 hit games. Then I'll go 3 games and struggle. I love levelling up my player. But I'm too aggressive at the plate and get a lot of poor at bats. I think I've only walked twice and I play every at bat.

While I agree that it is pretty awesome, I have been very impressed with NBA 2K11s MyPlayer. I've done RTTS for the last 3 years and love it, but MP has really impressed me.

I've been trying to get traded for my whole 4 years since the Mariners drafted me, but they refuse. It's driving me crazy.

Haven't really played enough RTTS but I really enjoy the franchise mode. It is very detailed and it's fun to deal with all the trades, stadium upgrades, etc

k so I started a RTTS pitcher last night and see what you guys mean lol. Its pretty cool and much better impression than I started with the other night. I think MyPlayer is really close to it but RTTS looks like it has the edge. Even though I have only played about 10-12 games so far.
