I want to get into this game so badly, but I don't think my laptop can handle it. And if I read up on it and start watching videos I'll irresponsibly spend money on a new desktop.

Yeah just got that email too. So the wait officially begins now. Ha.
And it seems they are having "beta events" rather than a continuous events. I dislike having to dedicate a whole weekend if I want to get in on a beta. That's a drag.

Nice.
Im reminded (now that I've started playing again) how hard / expensive it is to get hom unlocks.
What I currently need to reach my goal of 20:
1 rare miniature = 80 plat
Nightfall armor and Luxon / Kurzik armor = 200 plat + 1-2 weeks of rep grinding now that im not in a guild.
I can also substitue in:
2-3 more companion statues = Need to cap emperial pheonix and black widow or run my nightfall heros through a dungeon to get armor pieces
Not to mention the destroyer or oppressor weapons that go for about 80-500 plat

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous. I've toned down my expectations.

Too much grinding really in the end. I mean, I'm at 9 points and still need to beat all the campaigns, so 20 may be the tops for me.

I want 20 purely for the black moa ranger pet. Ive used it for years on mine, so it would be nice to have on the next one. However, if there is going to be a way to get a black moa in GW2, then ima say fuk it, and play bf3 instead

I realized that I already beat prophecies. I had a friend run me (literally) through all the main missions. I can put a running spec together and run you through to all the main cities

It just depends. I think you could reserve TOR like 6 months out if I remember correctly.
But given how things are speeding up, I think a June-July release is most likely.

So I just realized last night that a guy I know from WoW has played GW before, not only that, but hes 50/50 in HOM. Litterally all the titles, statues, legendary weapons...everything. Gonna start running with him to get some titles knocked out, you should join us. Add me - Artemis Xylon.
ETA: Im 1 mini pets away from 20. Gonna try to get the black moa chick from the quest line. Ever heard of it?

Yeah, I've read about it. Was going to wait until I do the whole Dungeon that way you get both statues. Need to grab the book first though. But it's a solid point by itself, so I need it.

Man I wish I could bring my HOM over...I had at one time 800+ ecto and 100+ black dye, because I kept going over in the money, and it didn't make sense for me to build a HOM so I stopped.
Unfortunately, my account was set up opening day on a work email account. I no longer have access to that email and GW won't switch the email on my account because I don't have the original POP. So it's all lost and I stopped playing 2 years ago because of it.
I will buy GW2...even if I don't play it(time), just as a thanks for the memories from GW1.

Wow. Sorry to hear that man, that's a terrible situation. But I know the feeling, same thing happened to me with my EQ account.
