I need a red dead sequel on the double.

mass effect was really cool in a lot of ways, but when it got down to it, I was just going to shoot my way through shite...There was a lot in between, but that was the foundation of it.
halo, I don't think I've played one that wasn't fun, but again, it's point and shoot. also, FP views are so tough for me. That's why I couldn't get into skyrim. I love that 3rd person perspective.

There are, but some of them just didn't do it for me.

a list that begins with Zelda, ff, and Mario is legit
and damn those galaxy games are so perfect
then it was a bunch of games I've never heard of, I guess I'm not that hardcore (so I can breathe a sigh of relief)

Mass Effect had different classes that did different things. You could choose different companions that each did different things.
I've replayed the entire series 5 times and not one experience has been the same.
....except the ending of ME3 :scruffy:

Can't you play Skyrim in 3rd person?

I'm sure it's in my top 100 somewhere but it would be after 40 or 50.
It's not a generation defining title or anything like many make it out to be.

you can, but it's not very refined.
the combat looks like poo, the motions are jerky...it's not meant to be played in 3rd person.
I guess that's what I really love about the naughty dog games...you're constantly moving forward, but you don't lose much in exploration, etc.

From a narrative standpoint it was one of my all time favorites and it looked amazing when I finally got to play it on the PS4.
I wasn't a big fan of the gameplay though, which keeps it out of my all time favorites. It is up there though.
I can agree with this. Amazing story, but I absolutely hated the combat at times.

Gameplay too because I pick a different class to play with and who I bring with me on missions

It took me a while to figure the combat out but once I did I loved it.

The story and performances (not just vocal) definitely put it over the top
Gameplay wise, it's perfectly executed but nothing new.
But those performances aren't limited to cut scenes, they are constant throughout the gameplay

Weapon sway? That made it suck at first. Gotta get the upgrade and it becomes fun.
When you are firing that firearm though you mean business, there's not a lot of ammo around. For me that kind of adds to the thrill, whereas in uncharted you're constantly unloading on people

It's certainly in my top 50 games, but I have no idea where it lands. I really think I need some more time to know where it sits.
The way it handles a mostly traditional story is probably the best I've ever seen in a video game. You really get to see Joel and Ellie slowly warm up to one another until they become inseparable. Another game that tried to do the same thing in the same year, Bioshock Infinite, failed on that front.
The gameplay also took me a little while to get used to, but once I did I loved it. I've said it here before, but I was most impressed by the way the gameplay transitions from stealth, to combat, and back to stealth so convincingly. I've never played another stealth game that's pulled it off that well, where it feels like the enemies legitimately lost track of where I was.
I also agree the game needs to be played on Hard or above. I played normal for a little while and it was just too easy. I nearly always had full supplies and rarely felt like I was really struggling to survive.

I'm still waiting for proof he even beat/played the game.

He actually never said that he did
This is one reason I don't like to rank it. It's too soon.
