Hey everyone, picked up destiny about a month or so ago and really enjoy it, but definitely want to party up for trials, raids, etc. before Taken King comes out.
Got a 32 Hunter and 32 Titan if anyone is interested.

So what do you guys think about the news today?
I'm only level 16 on my first play-through and wonder if I should just get to 20 and wait for the expansion since they're revamping the leveling process to use experience points instead of the "light" levels post-20.
You think they'll grant you experience for the gear you have equipped or make you start at level 20?

In regarding to the news I'm stoked about all of it.
Dinklebot change was a interesting one, Nolan North is very talented and has been in a ton of stuff great change imo. Also allowing your ghost to access more of the Destiny lore is great, who really wants to go online and look at the grimoire cards?
New level cap to 40 is interesting, my only question is what level will we be if when we start the new campaign, will it be at 20? Or will it be higher because of TDB & HoW?
I love the change from light levels to just straight experience, I always thought the light level was a really dumb concept. Was never a fan of it.
Year One Gear being replaced, I'm on board. I'm so used to it from WoW I really have no issues with it. With as much new weapons and gear that's coming out into TTK what would be the incentive to get that new gear when you could still have the amazing old pieces from past expansions? Plus wouldn't it get boring using the same old weapons for a longer period of time, a year feels about right in longevity imo.

Yeah that's what I'm curious about. I haven't bought any of the expansions since I'm just now playing through it for the first time. Would like to know if I should just get 20 and hold off until the new expansion for everything else.

I think you have to have The Dark Below & House of Wolves though to access Taken King if I'm not mistaken?

Yep that's very true, it's mainly a PVE change that'll happen. And yes Exotics will have some sort of way to stay current when TTK hits I believe is what they've said.

A few things we learned about today actually will be introduced into patch 2.0 (weapon balancing / pre-TTK patch)
