Currently a 65 on Metacritic.

It's reviewing as expected. apparently if it didn't look good visually no one would care about it at all.

I'll get it when it goes on sale. Not paying full

Yeah...gamefly for me.

Looks like a game perfect for rental.

I was thinking this but the more I see, PS plus might be the only reason I play it. I have too many good games in backlog to even spend the time on it.
Time > money at this point for me

Yeah this looks like a perfect game for PS+ as well if you wait long enough.

Good call. I keep forgetting that's a thing for Playstation.

Jim Sterling tweet

To its credit, The Order showed me nude NPC men with penises hanging out... and *they* seemed long enough to satisfy.

I'm still gonna buy a physical copy to play and then probably trade it in. If it looks as good as they say I'm in.

If the meta is too low, then it won't qualify.

Really?

Does it have to meet a specific score or will they just decide whether the game is not good enough?

All the reviewers seem to really enjoy the game. they just say its too linear and not enough gameplay. But Heavy Rain didn't have a ton of gameplay and it was still beast. So hopefully it is a good game.

I'm pretty sure there's some type of requirement for non-release date PS+ titles or retail titles. I want to say I read the meta has to be 70+.

Also, this is a cool introduction thread on Neogaf: LINK

Man, every review says these are the best graphics ever on a home console

And every review is brutal

Ign's 6.5 is the best review score I've seen

Well the good thing for Sony is that even if they have had that policy, they can whack it and do what they want

All the reviews have said the game is boring, short, non I teractive, overloaded with QTE, even more overloaded with cutscenes and no variety in gameplay/gunplay as the 7 hour story progresses

Every single one

This guy at The Verge enjoyed it for what it is. Interesting review (and mostly positive):

quote:

Open-world games aren't going anywhere, and I don't want them to, but The Order is proof that there's still a place for linear, cinematic gaming experiences. It may look like a modern game, but The Order is a throwback to some of the best releases from the PlayStation 2: games that didn’t need a massive world to tell a cool story. It turns out I really missed that.

I read kotaku (hipster BS so don't take it seriously), IGN and one other article on Google news

With the exception of the storytelling (praised by 2 and derided by kotaku) they were all the same.

Long story short you're paying for a 7 hour movie

Personally, if I'm in the mood for straight shootouts and linear gameplay, I'm going with the uncharted series (it's been 2 + years since I've played any of the games)

But right now, I'm loving a linear game that gives me choices, options, and puts me in the drivers seat

It sounds like when the order does let you play it's on training wheels and it's just the exact same gun fight scene after scene
