I agree but I had to call you out for doing it twice in a thread

That's why I like what some youtubers do where they just talk about the games. I would rather listen to a panel discussion about it.

Maybe you didn't but there was a lot of it going on around here.

I watched the first hour of the game and it was enough to sell me on it. Game is gorgeous, guns seem fun and the story seemed interesting.

I get why a lot of people won't like it, but I don't mind a story intensive game. Metal Gear will always be one of my favorites and we all know how those cut scenes go.

I will let you know how I like this game after the weekend.

I guess it's also a lazy way of explaining that I'm not using the outliers to defend the game. Just to point out that people who supposed to provide an objective criticism can arrive on two literal opposite ends of the spectrum.

and that's literally the only thing good you're hearing about it (well mixed reaction on the guns)

people like a flawed game that rises above challenges to be pretty fun (sleeping dogs, geez they bought a game and then had to retool it)

people are more annoyed by wasted potential though...there are no side missions, there is no exploring AT ALL, there is no interaction with the world...it's just walk, gun fight, cut scene, repeat (so many reviews are saying this)

and then on top of it, there's hardly any content. I can take quality over quantity, but 7 hours of untapped potential...pass

if it's literally just gun fight after gun fight with no variety, then I'm going to be bored and that's not worth $60 to me.

Well, there are some stealth sections in the game, so it's not like there isn't any variety at all. I would watch one of the video reviews to get a better idea.

I did, it's not as big a piece of shite as kotaku is making it out to be

the whole selling point is graphics...that says everything. IGN never steers me wrong.

well, they are on the money IMO.

they certainly don't have transgendered freaks complaining about the portrayal of women in video games

I never get lectured by them, they give an honest fair and unbiased assessment of every game, and they're very detailed yet concise in their reviews.

I have come to trust the brand

Here is alone from one of the favorable reviews

quote:

Where The Order: 1886 excels is in the strength of its cinematic visuals. While it might sound superficial, the look and feel of The Order is powerful enough to be worth a playthrough on its own. Textures, lighting, facial animation, particles, cloth, and so on are all impeccable, raising the bar in a way that we’ve been waiting for since the start of this generation. And in our playthrough, we only came across a single minor bug. The only nagging flaw is that our character apparently doesn’t reflect in mirrors.

Every review I read in one way or another gives the same conclusion

Style over substance.

Because everything we had heard about it the past couple months has been worrisome.

Honestly is not the money, it's the time. This game doesn't look worth my time when I have plenty of other good games to play.

I guess, it looks like it would be worth a playthrough for the graphics alone.

It's been known what this game is for a while now, you're either into it or you're not.
