Thinking about getting this game. Just bought a PS4 and just want a fun shooter to play by myself. Thoughts?

Great game. A personal favorite, but it's definitely not a "fun shooter".

Loved it, but it's definitely not a shooter. Limited weapons, limited ammo, and your aim sucks for a long time. It's a stealth based game and you take out more enemies by choking them out, punching them to death, or using crafted items like molotovs and nail bombs than shooting.
If you're talking about online, prepare to get killed a lot. 4v4 matches that really rely on teamwork, but it's a shooter unlike the single player campaign.

I've never been more emotionally invested in video game characters like I was with Joel and Ellie. I've been casually doing a 4th playthrough and I still get irrationally angry when someone puts their hands on Ellie

David is King. Easily the best character in a video game. Incredibly well done.

Amazing story line but the shooter is more of a stealthy shooter that doesn't yield much fun if you are a beginner going up against really good players. As far as "fun" shooters, Black Ops 3 comes out in about a month.

Yeah I'm just looking for a cool game to play in my downtime. I'm not an online gamer or anything, and the shooter thing is not a must. i just like the zombie thing and it looks really well made.

Then you picked a good one. Gameplay is so so...takes about an hour before it really let's you do anything. But, it's well worth.

It's story is as good as any movie in the last 10 years. It'll really hit you in the feels.

I recommend playing on at least hard. The gameplay is much better when you have to be stealthy and think about resources.
