Final fight wasn’t hard if you have Revenant.
I loved this game, but there were two quest breaking bugs on Ryujin quest line and some stupid charity quest that had me get stuck with 10 pounds of flour that I couldn’t discard because it was a quest item.
Both had to do with NPCs being outside map. I didn’t think I was going to NG+ it, but I did.
Now I don’t feel like picking it up again and wish I wouldn’t have started over.

I'm in my 20's now on a 2nd new character as I didn't want to choose ng+ or not on the 1st. I'm a little shorter and squatter on this one which really shows in the spacesuit areas. lol
Still playing through the quest lines. Had not completed Freelancers, on last UC again though and been avoiding Constellation.Just starting Ryjuin. Have Crimson Fleet to begin at all.
Still have the ng+ playthrough to go totally as will eventually have to choose on one character or the other.

Were the Emissary and Hunter - Barrett and the Priest in your games? Does that ever differ?

I think its which ever character you have built up more of a relationship with. My wife's paly through, she had to choose b/t Sam and Sarah, the mission they attack.

I finally finished out the UC/Fleet storyline and am far enough into the main storyline that I don't think spoilers will suck for me.
Talked to a friend of mine who is playing it as well. It seems tied to whomever is your primary follower when the attack happens.
Just prior to the attack, they are on the Eye and they will end up dying. I chose to stay at the Lodge to defend, my friend chose to go to the Eye to help them.
My follower was Sarah, his was Sam. Both died even though we made different choices but in the meeting with the Hunter and Emissary, our dead follower was the Emissary. The Priest is always the Hunter, it seems.
I'm stuck at the Crucible mission. I got the codes and have to talk to Genghis and Ada, but Ghengis is shut in behind an "inaccessible" door and Ada just tells me I need to do something. I also have tried giving the robot his iron, but he tells me he's busy.
I'm currently working the Ryujin line (just finished Juno and finding that guy's slate).
Current level: 168
Current ship: Narwal (I need to upgrade a couple of things though).

Anyone do the side quest line with the colony full of clones of historical figures from Earth

Yeah, that's the Crucible mission. I'm stuck on it and can't get it to advance beyond the point where I am supposed to talk to Genghis then Ada. Ada (I think) wants me to talk to Genghis but the building Ghengis is in has a closed door with the "inaccessible" tag.

It can vary. My original playthrough it was but then in one of my NG+ speed runs it was Sarah instead of Barret

That whole quest line is super bugged. I did find a YouTube video that showed how to get around it but it took 2 tries.

This is why Starfield annoys me that you can't just go rogue and end quests with a shotgun. My pirate quest got bugged and I thought well, I'm already here so might as well eradicate the Crimson Fleet. Nope, unkillable.

I'm in the Ryujin quest line where I have to go to Hopetown and have to plant evidence in Hopetech without being detected. The problem is that I had to shoot my way out of there at the end of the Freestar quest and apparently the employees in the building still hold a grudge (I zone in and everything inside is still aggro'd on me).

Had the same problem. Didn't get the special bonus for being sneaky. But stealth is so fricked anyway that I soon learned not to bother after that.

to help with stealth, get your inventory weight as low as possible. store your spacesuit on your ship.
I just finished the main story last night and went NG+. I'm going to speed run to NG+10, then have that as my final universe to complete everything I skipped and really get into outpost building.
I'm not super impressed with the Starborn ship at first, but maybe it'll grow on me. it is too empty inside, but it does look cool.

I don't know if it was a stealth thing or a story thing (as it was only the two guards in the first room and the quest gal mentioned later my troubles at Hope), but I just quickly took out the two enemies then was able to easily finish the mission (had to shove behind a guard in order for him to not see me when I crouched and replaced the device).

I'm about to call it on this game. I'm on Akila to finish the leader of the pack questline and the game freezes no matter what I try to do. I literally can't leave Akila or quick save, it just freezes. I can go back to a previous save but then I would lose everything I've done since being there which kinda defeats the purpose of playing a game.

I forgot which game I was playing that was prone to freezing, but it was one I had played through several times. I remember getting furious that I had to repeat some progress, even though that was literally all I did every time I replayed. Still, infuriating.

for those that have gone NG+, did you side with the Emissary, Hunter or tell them both to frick off? I went with the Hunter because frick the Emissary gatekeeping and I'm pretty much the Hunter anyway--it should be a free for all.
eta: I did have some righteousness and told Father Aquilus to go live somewhere else. he was just wanting to live out his days in that universe, same as the Pilgrim.

I sided with the Emisary on my first play through. Then I told them both to eat shite so I could have both weapons once I was ready to settle in

Started the game a week ago, totally lost. But hey that is part of the fun.
