Upgraded Star Eagle to class C, along with other changes. Knocked out that quest line, then went and maxed out my ship ability at the UC training sim. Just started Ryujin. I think I have 1 or 2 left in main quest line, but have only hit maybe 1/3 of the total systems.

So for you folks already on NG+, if you didn't know, you can keep collecting your spaceman powers. They'll go up in rank when you pick up the same one.

Ship building is driving me fricking mad. There's no way to know if / how anything is connecting internally.

the white circles mean different things (passageway connections, weapon mounts, etc..)

My problem is that when I'm ripping up and remaking a ship the landing bay just refuses to connect to the cockpit despite having an obviously clear path.

I think cockpits have to connect to a hab first. Not sure though. Ship building on console has taken a bit of trial and error.....mostly error.

They do, except I think at some point in the process the game decides where the ladders are and refuses to adapt. So if you are swapping around a lot, even if there is a clear path via habs it just won't do it.

For example, to clear a current error I went docking bay - 1x1 companion way - cockpit and it was still like nope, not happening dickhead.

its also not straightforward on the errors..

i was fighting one that said I needed more landing gear, and just needed to delete an incompatible storage bin

It's slowly coming around. I'm realizing now it was because the cockpit I was using simply refused to connect to the specific hab. It's honestly criminal that they didn't add a fly through option with the ability to customize ladder and hallway placement.

This would be very easy for them. Have had a glitch a few times, when my ship takes off, just the interior lifts off and the ship body stays landed.

Man, I better get some good karma or something. I fast traveled and some 6th grade teacher and her kids hailed me and I gave them 10 ship parts so they weren’t stranded in space.

All these companions are terrible. The fact that you can't have Kaiser as a companion is an atrocity.

Yeah, I agree. They bitch and whine, they want to talk about dumb shite at the worst times, and when I’m crouched and ready to clear a room with stealth kills, they run in blasting and yelling. I wish I could just go at this alone.

as i stated before ive been digging just playing around with the ship design feature. i really wish space combat and exploration was bigger and even more ship options. oh god....maybe i should play eve online?

anyway, one thing i learned is that the enemy ships target your "center mass" in combat. so people have been exploiting that by making mass center empty ships. lol. pretty funny. see link below for short clip.
the cube

bonus video, just cuz i got a kick out of it.

gotta be kidding me

There are only a few scripted parts of the MSQ that require you to have a companion. Wait until you're out of those, dump your companion, then go on a murder spree.

Probably going to do this on NG+. Just about finished with the main story and have completed most of the major side quests. I’m halfway through all of the powers, and will finish those and the main story. Honestly, all of the side characters outside of the Russian chick are just whiny and get in the way. The Vanguard quest really showcased that. I don’t need everyone bitching at me for not releasing microbes into the universe.

The end of this game really did not stick the landing.

This has to be the worst MSQ Bethesda has ever released, and the entire plot of the game is a giant advertisement for NG+

New Game Plus has no business whatsoever in a Bethesda RPG. It's like they realized that they basically fricked the replay value of the game by making your character have the ability to basically do everything in the game, so they forced this upon the playerbase.

What even is the point of doing any of the side activities if it all just gets wiped at the end of the game? this is another Fallout 3 situation
